Technology has turned out to be a terrific investment over the past decade, with shares of the memory specialist crushing the broader market's returns by a huge margin.A $1,000 investment in Micron stock a decade ago would be currently worth just over $10,000.Micron stock could repeat its outstanding run over the next decade, or do better, as the demand for memory chips that it sells will get stronger. Let's look at the reasons why Micron Technology stock could 10x once again in the next 10 years.Micron will benefit from the memory market's secular growthThe dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market generated $24.6 billion in revenue back in 2012, according to memory market intelligence provider DRAMeXchange. By the end of 2022, global DRAM revenue is expected to hit nearly $92 billion. This substantial increase in DRAM industry revenue over the past decade has been driven by an increase in the need for computing power. For instance, the average DRAM content in each smartphone was 666 megabytes (MB) back in 2012, a figure that increased eightfold by the end of 2021 to 5.3 gigabytes (GB). Additionally, the deployment of hyperscale data centers that require high data transfer speeds and the increase in the DRAM capacity of computers and laptops has been driving this industry's terrific growth. The good news for Micron investors is that the DRAM market will keep expanding in the long run. Mordor Intelligence estimates that global DRAM revenue could exceed $100 billion by 2026, though it won't be surprising to see the market grow at a faster pace for a few simple reasons.First, the smartphone market is going to be a big catalyst for DRAM sales in the coming years. That's because 5G smartphones are using 50% more DRAM as compared to 4G devices. With the 5G smartphone market expected to clock a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 125% through 2025, the need for mobile DRAM is going to increase rapidly.Second, graphics cards that are now used in several applications ranging from personal computers to gaming consoles to data centers and even self-driving cars also use DRAM. Now, the global graphics card market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 33% through 2027, so this is another area that would create the need for more memory chips.Meanwhile, there are emerging memory technologies on the horizon to support the need for faster computing. The market for such next-generation memory chips could exceed $30 billion in revenue by 2030, growing at an annual rate of nearly 28% through the forecast period. All of this indicates that Micron's addressable revenue opportunity in the DRAM market is set to increase in the long run. This bodes well for the company as it gets 73% of its revenue from this space. On the other hand, the NAND flash market that supplies a quarter of Micron's revenue is also expanding rapidly thanks to the growing need for storage in data centers, smartphones, and computers. By 2027, the NAND flash market is expected to reach $94 billion in revenue as compared to $66 billion last year.More importantly, Micron is in a nice position to generate incremental long-term revenue thanks to the expansion of its end markets. That's because the company held a 22% share of the DRAM market last year, and the good part is that it has been gaining ground over rivals. The company could steal a march over rivals in the NAND flash market as well thanks to its latest product development move. Micron has started the mass production of the industry's first 176-layer NAND data center solid-state drive that's currently being evaluated by several hyperscale and data center customers. As such, it won't be surprising to see Micron corner a bigger share of the NAND flash market, compared to just over 10% last year.Solid earnings growth could send the stock soaringMicron Technology has been benefiting big time from the strength of the memory market in recent years, as evident from the chart below.MU Revenue (TTM) data by YChartsThe chipmaker released its fiscal 2022 second-quarter results on March 29 and revealed a 25% year-over-year increase in revenue to $7.79 billion. Adjusted earnings shot up 118% over the prior-year period to $2.14 per share. The company easily crushed Wall Street's expectations and issued healthy guidance, which indicates that its momentum is here to stay. The potential growth of Micron's end market could help it maintain its impressive pace of growth. Not surprisingly, analysts expect its earnings to increase at a 30% compound annual growth rate over the next five years, which is nearly identical to the annual growth it has seen in the past five years. If Micron could sustain a 30% annual earnings growth rate for the next 10 years thanks to booming memory demand, its earnings could hit $83 per share after a decade as compared to $6.06 per share last year. Multiplying the estimated EPS figure with Micron's five-year average forward earnings multiple of 10 points toward a stock price of $830 after 10 years, indicating that Micron stock has the potential to grow 10 times over its closing price of $77 on April 4.And, with Micron trading at just 9.5 times trailing earnings as compared to its five-year average multiple of 15, investors are getting a great deal on this growth stock right now that they may not want to miss.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"MU":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2786,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9019911046,"gmtCreate":1648513186575,"gmtModify":1676534347492,"author":{"id":"3568528830578074","authorId":"3568528830578074","name":"ashk3","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568528830578074","idStr":"3568528830578074"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"This is a good move. Investors, it seemed, were cautiously optimistic about the company's pull-back from a big market in its backyard. So whatSingapore-based Sea Limited announced that it would be ceasing the operations of its e-commerce unit Shopee in India. The company isn't wasting any time with the move; it said it will begin the withdrawal on March 29.Reuters quoted a company statement indicating that the withdrawal is being made \"in view of global market uncertainties.\" Shopee also pledged to make \"the process as smooth as possible.\"This is the second time in a month that Sea has halted Shopee operations in big markets abroad. It recently withdrew from France as well.Sea has had a difficult and challenging March. At the start of the month, it reported fourth-quarter results that revealed a net loss far deeper than analysts expected. Since then, many analysts have grown more bearish on the stock. Now whatThat view might be changing, however. Several analysts weighed in positively on Sea's decision to pull Shopee from the Indian market. One was Morgan Stanley's Mark Goodridge, who believes that the company is being prudent by withdrawing from a challenging market, and the move will help limit Shopee's losses.UBS prognosticator Navin Killa also considers the pull-out to be a plus for Sea, as it shows the company is realizing its goal of a \"more calibrated\" approach to international markets. Killa added that, in addition, \"it removes the potential of high cash burn from competing with an ultra-competitive Indian e-commerce market with global and local giants such as Amazon, Flipkart, and JioMart.\"","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"SE":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3147,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9034553015,"gmtCreate":1647925112541,"gmtModify":1676534280934,"author":{"id":"3568528830578074","authorId":"3568528830578074","name":"ashk3","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568528830578074","idStr":"3568528830578074"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"If he isn't saying why, take it with a pinch of salt and do your own research ","listText":"If he isn't saying why, take it with a pinch of salt and do your own research ","text":"If he isn't saying why, take it with a pinch of salt and do your own research","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9034553015","repostId":"1187098701","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1187098701","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1647916795,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1187098701?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-22 10:39","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Shares of Coinbase Fell Nearly 5% on Monday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1187098701","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"A prominent investor recently said he and his firm are shorting the stock.","content":"<div>\n<p>KEY POINTSJim Chanos, a famous short seller, said he believes Coinbase is \"overearning\" right now. What happenedShares of the large crypto exchange Coinbase fell nearly 5% today after a big investor ...</p>\n\n<a href=\"https://www.fool.com/investing/2022/03/21/why-shares-of-coinbase-fell-today/\">Web Link</a>\n\n</div>\n","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Shares rallied leading up to last November but have since come tumbling back down along with many other tech stocks. Analysts have broadly stayed bullish on the company, with the average median price target still close to $300, implying strong upside from the current stock price of around $176 per share. As the price has come down, I've been more bullish on Coinbase, especially as it continues to further diversify revenue and as cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin get more ingrained into the financial system. But with a prominent short seller like Chanos now turning his eye on the company, it's definitely a good idea to retest your hypothesis and see if you can figure out where he may be coming from in terms of his comments on earnings.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"COIN":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2257,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9033630512,"gmtCreate":1646265073588,"gmtModify":1676534109455,"author":{"id":"3568528830578074","authorId":"3568528830578074","name":"ashk3","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568528830578074","idStr":"3568528830578074"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It was quite overvalued in the first place. The double-digit percentage decline the S&P 500 experienced in January marks the 39th correction of at least 10% for the widely followed index since the beginning of 1950.But where there are crashes and corrections, there's also opportunity. That's because every sizable decline in the S&P 500 has eventually been put in the rearview mirror by a bull market rally. If the broader market were to continue to plunge, the following four companies would be some of the smartest stocks to buy.Image source: Getty Images.Berkshire HathawayIn a world where growth stocks have dominated, perhaps no company has more consistently outperformed the broader market for decades than Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B).Berkshire might not be a household name, but its CEO, billionaire Warren Buffett, certainly is. Since taking the reins in 1965, Buffett has led his company's Class A shares (BRK.A) to an average annual gain of better than 20%. In aggregate, we're talking about a total gain of around 3,800,000% in 57 years. One of the key reasons the Oracle of Omaha is such a successful investor is due to his company's focus on cyclical businesses. Cyclical companies thrive when the economy is running on all cylinders and struggle when recessions arise. Buffett fully understands that recessions typically last for a few months to a couple of quarters. Comparatively, periods of expansion usually last for years, if not a decade. Warren Buffett is allowing time to be his ally and playing a simple numbers game that works in favor of ultra-long-term investors. The other not-so-subtle secret to Berkshire Hathaway's outperformance is dividend income. This year, Buffett's company is on pace to collect over $5 billion in payouts, which works out to a yield relative to cost of around 5%. Dividend stocks are almost always profitable and time-tested. This means Buffett and his team have packed Berkshire's portfolio with successful businesses that can navigate whatever the U.S. economy and stock market throw their way.Image source: Getty Images.Walgreens Boots AllianceHealthcare stocks are usually a wise place to put your money to work if the market plunges. That's why pharmacy chain and value stock Walgreens Boots Alliance (NASDAQ:WBA) would be such a smart buy.No matter how well or poorly the U.S. economy performs, or how high the year-over-year inflation figure rises, people don't get to choose when they get sick or what ailment(s) they develop. This means demand for prescription drugs, medical devices, and healthcare services tends to remain steady in any economic environment. What specifically makes Walgreens so intriguing is the company's multipoint growth strategy targeting higher margins and a faster organic growth rate. To lift margins, the company has reduced its annual operating expenses by more than $2 billion a full fiscal year ahead of schedule.Meanwhile, to boost the company's organic growth rate, Walgreens is spending aggressively on two key initiatives. First, it's actively promoting direct-to-consumer sales. Even though the company's brick-and-mortar locations will account for the lion's share of revenue, online sales are an easy way to boost organic growth as consumers shift their buying habits.Second, Walgreens has partnered with, and invested in, VillageMD to open upwards of 600 co-located, full-service clinics by 2025 in over 30 U.S. markets. These physician-staffed clinics can be used to funnel repeat clients to the company's higher-margin pharmacy.Image source: Getty Images.Palo Alto NetworksAnother exceptionally smart stock to buy if the market plunges is cybersecurity powerhouse and growth stock Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ:PANW).If you're noticing a theme with this list, it's that highly defensive sectors and industries are a smart place to put your money to work when corrections arise. Cybersecurity is a sustained double-digit growth trend which has become a basic necessity for businesses of all sizes that have an online or cloud-based presence. Hackers and robots simply don't care if Wall Street has a rough day. There are two key reasons Palo Alto makes for such an impressive growth story. To begin with, it's undergoing a business transformation that's emphasizing subscription services. Even though the company continues to sell physical firewall products, subscription services provide better long-term margins and less revenue lumpiness. Over time, a larger percentage of total sales will derive from these higher-margin channels.Palo Alto's other major growth driver is its many bolt-on acquisitions. Management hasn't been afraid to deploy capital in order to expand its product portfolio or broaden its pool of potential customers. These acquisitions have been pivotal in helping Palo Alto reach new small and medium-sized businesses.Image source: Getty Images.Bank of AmericaA fourth and final company that would be one of the smartest stocks to buy if the market plunges is money-center giant Bank of America (NYSE:BAC).Bank stocks like BofA are highly cyclical. Even though they can occasionally get caught up in the short-term emotions that weigh down stocks, they benefit immensely from the natural expansion of the U.S. and global economy over time. This allows patient investors in large bank stocks to build their wealth steadily over time. Not surprisingly, Bank of America is Warren Buffett's second-largest holding. What makes Bank of America such a perfect buy at the moment (and if the market continues to fall) is the upcoming shift in the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. With U.S. inflation hitting a 40-year high in January, the nation's central bank has no choice but to aggressively begin raising interest rates. No bank stock is more interest-sensitive than BofA. In its year-end report, the company noted that a 100-basis-point parallel shift in the interest rate yield curve would add an estimated $6.5 billion in net interest income. In other words, the more inflation becomes an issue, the likelier BofA is to see a big boost to its bottom line. Also, as I've previously pointed out, Bank of America's digital push is really paying dividends. Over the past three years, it's added 5 million new digital active customers and seen the aggregate number of loan sales completed online or via app jump from 31% to 49%. It's far more cost-effective when customers transact digitally than in person or by phone. As consumers make this digital shift, BofA has consolidated some of its branches and lowered its expenses.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"BRK.B":1,"WBA":1,"PANW":1,"BAC":1,".SPX":0.74,"BRK.A":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2796,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9094671264,"gmtCreate":1645144818435,"gmtModify":1676534002389,"author":{"id":"3568528830578074","authorId":"3568528830578074","name":"ashk3","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568528830578074","idStr":"3568528830578074"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Looks like the next dip is imminent ","listText":"Looks like the next dip is imminent ","text":"Looks like the next dip is imminent","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9094671264","repostId":"1187417331","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1187417331","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1645143080,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1187417331?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-18 08:11","market":"sg","language":"en","title":"Singapore Stock Market May Spin Its Wheels On Friday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1187417331","media":"RTTNews","summary":"The Singapore stock market has moved higher in three straight sessions, collecting more than 20 poin","content":"<html><head></head><body><p>The Singapore stock market has moved higher in three straight sessions, collecting more than 20 points or 0.6 percent along the way. This situation might be scaring investors out of the market entirely, as the downward trend could continue with uncertainty about inflation, the Fed's pending rate hikes, and the ongoing pandemic adding to the worries. But if you're an investor with a long time horizon, like me, then now could be the perfect time to add fresh capital to your portfolio. When the market seems overly pessimistic and full of fear is usually the best time to be aggressive. With $1,000 to invest, look no further than Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU), Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX), and PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL) as worthy additions to your portfolio. Image source: Getty Images.1. Lululemon Since February 2017, Lululemon's stock has soared 390%, an outstanding investment if you got in at that time. This performance can be attributed to Lululemon's impressive sales and profit growth of 166% and 175%, respectively, over the past five years. Expanding the store footprint, now at 552 locations, also helped. This burgeoning apparel brand sports a better gross margin, at 57.2%, than industry leader Nike. A higher metric generally indicates customers' propensity to pay premium prices for a company's products. In Lululemon's case, having a strong direct-to-consumer presence -- a channel that represented 40% of sales in the most recent quarter -- is crucial for brand relevance. The business first gained popularity as a seller of yoga pants to women, but it has now become a major men's outfitter. The men's segment increased revenue 44% year over year in the fiscal 2021 third quarter, while the women's segment grew 25%. Diversification of revenue sources is a positive sign. Lululemon shares have lost 30% in value over the past three months as the threat of higher interest rates negatively impacts high-multiple, high-growth stocks. Consequently, investors are presented with a great opportunity to buy shares in this thriving retailer at a meaningful pullback. 2. Netflix This top streaming stock reported fourth-quarter 2021 financial results on Jan. 20 that disappointed investors. Management guided to 2.5 million net new subscribers in the current quarter, far less than the 6.9 million Wall Street was expecting. But despite the stock being down 17% since that announcement, Netflix has been a massive winner, rising 200% over the past five years. Quarterly membership growth has certainly been irregular and unpredictable after the pandemic started in the spring of 2020, but the secular shift away from traditional cable TV and toward streaming is not going away. According to data from S&P Global, there were 1.1 billion households worldwide with a cable TV subscription in 2020. This means that Netflix, with its 221.8 million customers today, still has a large runway for expansion in the years ahead. Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, through his firm Pershing Square Capital Management, took advantage of the market souring on Netflix by scooping up 3.1 million shares. His firm is now a top-20 shareholder in the company. Ackman has a proven track record of pouncing on attractive investment opportunities when the time is right. That's a great endorsement for why you might want to consider owning Netflix stock as well. 3. PayPalAnother major historical winner is fintech behemoth PayPal. Its stock has climbed 379% since the business was spun off from eBay in July 2015. PayPal has long been a pioneer in the digital payments space, and it now counts an impressive 426 million active accounts, of which 34 million are merchants. I think there are three main factors that make PayPal a special business. For starters, the company's brand exemplifies a relentless focus on security and ease of use. These characteristics, along with massive scale to the tune of $1.25 trillion in total payment volume in 2021, are probably why e-commerce giant Amazon chose to partner with PayPal's Venmo starting this year. Additionally, PayPal possesses remarkable financial metrics. In 2021, the company's non-generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) operating margin of 24.8% was stellar. And the business continued to prove that it's a cash machine, generating $5.4 billion in free cash flow during the 12-month period. Lastly, the company is not done growing. Along with the Amazon partnership, initiatives to bolster the PayPal mobile app and an acquisition like that of Japanese buy now, pay later specialist Paidy showcase management's huge ambition to one day have 1 billion daily active users. PayPal's shares are off more than 50% from their recent high set in July 2021. The stock currently trades for a lower and more attractive price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of below 40, making it a solid investment right now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMZN":0.81,"NFLX":0.6,"LULU":1,"PYPL":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2372,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9098384694,"gmtCreate":1644025947198,"gmtModify":1676533883273,"author":{"id":"3568528830578074","authorId":"3568528830578074","name":"ashk3","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3568528830578074","idStr":"3568528830578074"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I wonder how it managed Apple's privacy changes?
