store in New York, U.S., on March 18.Photographer: Gabby Jones/BloombergApple Inc. shares are heading for their longest winning streak since 2003, when the iPhone hadn’t even launched andNokia Oyjwas still one of the top cellphone makers in the world.Shares in the world’s largest company rose 0.2% premarket on Tuesday, extending gains to the 11th straight day -- a rare feat in its 41-year stock market history. During the streak, it has added $407 billion in market value, roughly the size of Walmart Inc.Leading the charge in big technology stocks bouncing back after a dismal start to 2022, Apple has seen its earnings estimates being upgraded by 7.2% this year by analysts, much faster than other stocks in the Faang group. Both stocks are now under $20 compared to all-time intraday highs of $64.60 for Nio and $24.37 for Ford.Here's why Nio and Ford are two electric vehicle (EV) stocks worth considering now.A transitional yearHoward Smith (Nio): Nio's American depositary shares recently dropped below $15 for the first time since the summer of 2020. At that point in time, Nio had just surpassed its 50,000th delivery of an electric car. By the end of February 2022, the company had delivered more than 182,000 vehicles.Demand remains strong enough for the company, along with its state-owned manufacturing partner, to more than double production capacity to up to 300,000 vehicles per year. Part of the reason it that the company has new products coming this year.Its ET7 luxury sedan is due to begin shipping this month, followed by the smaller ET5 sedan later in the fall. Nio is also expanding outside of China. Europe is expected to be one of the largest EV markets globally, and the company has already established a presence there.In a further sign of its expansion plans outside of China, Nio reportedly has a new agreement with the state-owned China National Technical Import and Export Corporation to pursue the construction of EV infrastructure and support services in overseas markets, according to industry follower CnEVPost.The report says the agreement will focus on Europe to \"provide solutions for the export, installation, commissioning, and delivery of Nio's battery swap stations.\" Those swap stations allow Nio customers to purchase vehicles with lower up-front costs along with a subscription plan for battery replacements at the swap stations. The company says it takes only minutes, and is another form of income for Nio as it works to grow its customer base.While risks related to both the business and outside factors have driven Nio shares to a multi-year low, some investors might feel those risks are now priced in, making it a good time to consider buying the stock.Both of Ford's business units have their advantagesDaniel Foelber (Ford): Like most EV stocks, Ford has been absolutely hammered in recent weeks. We aren't even through the first three months of the year, and the stock has already climbed as high as $24.37 per share and as low as $15.51.Due to heightened market volatility and Ford's heavy investment in the EV industry, it could continue to be a volatile stock. However, investors would be better-suited turning their attention to Ford's long-term future, which is brighter than ever before.On March 2, Ford announced it was splitting its business into two divisions: the Model e division, which will focus on EVs; and the Blue division, which will be responsible for Ford's legacy internal combustion engine (ICE) business. The business units are expected to work in tandem, with Ford Blue supplying the bulk of the profit to support Ford Model e, which is expected to contribute the majority of Ford's long-term growth.Ford is an attractive automotive stock because it is already profitable and is less vulnerable to short-term supply chain challenges that have stunted the growth of other automakers like Lucid Group and Rivian Automotive and resulted in unsustainable cash burn.Ford also pays a quarterly dividend of $0.10 per share for an annualized yield of 2.5%, which makes it one of the few electric car stocks that is also a worthy dividend stock. And to top it all off, it's not expensive relative to its earnings and growth rate.Lastly, Ford has been much more vocal than its competitors when it comes to making sizable EV investments early and setting short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals. It expects to produce 600,000 EVs per year by the end of 2023 and more than 2 million EVs per year by 2026. By 2030, it aims to have EVs represent half of its global production volume, which is higher than its earlier estimate for them to make up 40% of global volume by that year.By setting a variety of goals with different time horizons, investors are able to hold Ford accountable and better track its progress, which is better than companies that only have vague 2030 or 2050 goals with little to no clarification of how those goals will be achieved.Add it all up, and Ford stands out as the single most-balanced automaker to buy now.A low entry pointFor less than $20, an investor can pick up a share of Nio or Ford and become a part owner in an exciting business.One of the advantages of being an individual investor is that you get to decide the timing and extent of your exposure to a company. Lower nominally-priced stocks like Nio and Ford make it easier to gradually accumulate shares to make sure a position doesn't become overweight in a portfolio.Nio and Ford have both drummed up healthy demand for their EV products. But both companies still need to prove their models are good enough to stand the test of time, especially as competition heats up in the EV industry.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO":0.9,"F":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":3266,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9034600667,"gmtCreate":1647867834188,"gmtModify":1676534273506,"author":{"id":"3575261937306050","authorId":"3575261937306050","name":"JoeK","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/162445e8b6a553bd412b8a06e3f44c9e","crmLevel":12,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575261937306050","authorIdStr":"3575261937306050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9034600667","repostId":"1135376786","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1135376786","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1647863764,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1135376786?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-21 19:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Pre-Bell|Nasdaq and S&P 500 Futures Erased Losses; Boeing Sank Nearly 6%","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1135376786","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. equity futures steadied as crude oil extended a climb and investors monitored diplomatic effort","content":"

U.S. equity futures steadied as crude oil extended a climb and investors monitored diplomatic efforts to bring an end to Russia’s almost month-old war in Ukraine.S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 contracts erased an earlier loss Monday after the underlying indexes posted their best five-day streak since November 2020.

Market Snapshot

At 7:50 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis were down 50 points, or 0.14%, S&P 500 e-minis were up 3.75 points, or 0.08%, and Nasdaq 100 e-minis were up 5.25 points, or 0.04%.Pre-Market Movers

Boeing – A Boeing 737-800 jet operated by China Eastern Airlines crashed in the mountains of southern China with 132 people aboard, with no immediate word on casualties. In conjunction with the stock-split announcement, Amazon also upped its share repurchase program to $10 billion, from the $5 billion program that had been in place. On the announcement, Amazon shares soared nearly 7% in after-hours trading Wednesday.So, should investors follow management's hint and buy shares ahead of the split?Following Alphabet's leadAmazon's move had been a topic of conversation among investors ever since CEO Andy Jassy took over the reins from founder Jeff Bezos last summer, and more recently after FAANG competitor Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) announced its own stock split back in February.Stock splits do not increase or decrease the value of the company, of course; they merely divide shares up into smaller, bite-size pieces. But they do make buying the stock easier for smaller shareholders who may not have $3,000 to invest. The advent of brokerages offering fractional shares has somewhat mitigated this problem for the small buyer, yet many investors still retain brokerage accounts that don't offer fractional shares. So the split could have some effect on a stock's liquidity and options activity.Some CEOs don't like the enhanced liquidity that comes with a lower share price. Notably, Warren Buffett has never split the shares of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B), which now go for a whopping $488,245 per Class A share! Buffett didn't want to attract short-term investors looking to make a quick buck, and more-liquid, lower-priced shares have a tendency to make bigger moves up and down with more trading activity.That being said, Berkshire was forced to offer lower-priced Class B shares in 1996, in order to head off the formation of investment trusts that allowed smaller investors to have a \"piece\" of Berkshire -- for a fee, of course.It appears Jeff Bezos took a page out of Buffett's playbook following the dot-com crash of the early 2000s, never splitting Amazon's stock again after it crashed more than 90% during that period.So why the stock split now?Obviously, Amazon's stock has done quite well since it last split. But as shares soared above $3,000, they've hit a roadblock, especially compared with other high-profile tech stocks that have split during the past two years:AMZN data by YCharts.Could this underperformance have to do with the lower liquidity in Amazon's stock? It's hard to say, but it's possible management might be feeling some heat from employees (many of whom get paid in Amazon stock) over the stock's recent performance. Amazon has doubled its employee count since the beginning of the pandemic and is in a global war for tech talent, so a lagging stock price could affect its ability to hire top engineers.As you can see above, shares have badly lagged the market and many of its large-cap technology peers over the past 20 months or so. Alphabet, Apple, Tesla, and Nvidia have each split their stock at some point over the past 20 months, with Apple and Tesla splitting in August 2020, Nvidia splitting in July 2021, and Alphabet just recently announcing its split, which has not yet taken effect.It's not clear if this is the reason for their outperformance; investors have been wary of e-commerce stocks amid economic reopening and higher inflation. But it appears management may think this is at least part of the reason.Don't buy Amazon for the split, though; buy it for these reasonsWhile many view Amazon as an unbridled growth stock, investors should not underestimate the company's capital allocation prowess. More than the stock split, investors should buy the stock because it appears cheap on the basis of the sum of its parts, and it looks like management feels the same way. And there are many smart people working at Amazon.The fact that Amazon is getting aggressive with share repurchases is telling. Under Bezos, Amazon sought to spend as much money as possible on growth ventures, so the fact that management is upping share repurchases means it must see its stock as woefully undervalued.Amazon also is coming off a massive two-year investment cycle since COVID-19 hit, but that should be winding down now as growth trends normalize. So free cash flow could skyrocket this year as Amazon spends less on building its fulfillment network, which has more than doubled since the beginning of the pandemic.Amazon has repurchased shares before, but only rarely and in small amounts. The last repurchase was at the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012, after the stock fell some 25%. That's roughly the same plunge shares have taken recently. Investors would have been good to follow management at that time, as Amazon's stock bounced back in a big way beginning in late 2012 and beyond.Amazon Web Services could be worth more than Amazon's entire market cap. Image source: Getty Images.Amazon Web Services could be more valuable than all of Amazon todayAdditionally, while most think of Amazon as an e-commerce company, I'd argue its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform is the bigger reason to own the stock, and it might be worth more than all of Amazon's e-commerce operations, or even more than the company's entire market cap today.Consider that AWS grew revenue 37% last year to $62.2 billion and operating income by roughly the same amount to $18.5 billion. However, AWS revenue and operating earnings accelerated throughout the year as economic activity picked up, with growth accelerating 40% in the fourth quarter.Assuming 35% growth this year, AWS operating income would come to $25 billion; after tax, that would come to about $20 billion in net earnings. At a $1.4 trillion market cap, all of Amazon is trading around 70 times AWS earnings for 2022.I have a feeling that if AWS were a separate business, it could garner a P/E ratio in that ballpark. So investors could be getting Amazon's e-commerce operations, which are also likely quite valuable, for free.The split should come in JuneAccording to the Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Amazon shareholders will have a vote on the stock split at the company's annual meeting in May, and the split should take effect sometime in early June, pending that shareholder vote. Assuming the split is a catalyst for shares to go up, I hope management spends a large portion of that $10 billion share buyback before then.After a no-good year and a half, 2022 could be a much better year for Amazon shareholders. It's screaming buy with the stock split on the horizon.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMZN":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2655,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"defaultTab":"posts","isTTM":true}
