The bond market has delivered its worst year on record, the S&P 500 produced its worst first-half return in 52 years, and the nation's central bank is aggressively raising interest rates as the stock market plunges. There simply haven't been many safe havens for investors.Yet in spite of these challenges, most Wall Street analysts maintain an optimistic tone. The reason being that recessions and bear markets tend to be short-lived. With the major U.S. indexes eventually erasing corrections, crashes, and bear markets over time, it generally pays to be an optimist. However, some analysts are taking optimism to an extreme. Based on the highest price targets issued by Wall Street, the following three supercharged growth stocks offer upside ranging between 393% and 1,153% in 2023.Plug Power: Implied upside of 393%The first fast-paced company with serious upside is hydrogen fuel-cell solution provider Plug Power. According to analyst Amit Dayal of H.C. Wainwright, Plug Power can reach $78. For those of you keeping score at home, this would work out to a near-quintupling in the company's share price in 2023.Dayal's optimism stems from a number of catalysts. First and foremost is the ongoing shift by most developed countries toward a renewable-energy-driven future. Plug expects to play a key role in supplying fuel cells for vehicles and industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts), as well as building the infrastructure needed to support fuel cell vehicle refueling.Additionally, Dayal is excited about management's efforts to improve operating margin while continuing to rapidly growing sales. Earlier this year, Dayal cited the opening of the company's fuel cell gigafactory in New York (this occurred in mid-November) and the rollout of next-generation GenDrive units, which are less costly to service, as reasons the company's margin can improve. But the biggest catalyst of all might just be Plug Power's ability to forge partnerships and joint ventures. It landed an equity investment from SK Group in early 2021 and is working with Renault via a joint venture to go after a significant portion of Europe's light commercial vehicle market. These partnerships should help lift Plug from just over $500 million in sales in 2021 to a company-forecast $3 billion in revenue by 2025.However -- and this is the big \"however\" -- Plug Power isn't profitable, and the growing likelihood of a U.S. recession, coupled with high inflation in most developed countries, could coerce businesses and governments to postpone their green-energy transition/spending to a later date. With Plug Power already valued at north of $9 billion, a lot of its future sales growth appears to be baked in. Until the company can plant its proverbial feet in the ground and deliver on the bottom line, a $78 price target will be hard to justify.Bionano Genomics: Implied upside of 474%A second supercharged growth stock with monumental upside, at least according to one Wall Street analyst, is small-cap genome analysis company Bionano Genomics. If Oppenheimer analyst Francois Brisebois is correct, Bionano shares will hit $12 in 2023, which would represent an upside of a cool 474%.Although Brisebois is the current analyst covering Bionano for Oppenheimer, it was his predecessor, Kevin DeGeeter, who primarily laid out the case for Bionano Genomics running to $12. In DeGeeter's view, Bionano's optical genome mapping (OGM) system, known as Saphyr, has demonstrated that it's faster, less expensive, and in many ways more effective at identifying structural genome variations than other OGM systems. One thing investors don't have to worry about with Bionano Genomics is a lack of data demonstrating Saphyr's efficacy. Over the past two years, the company has released numerous studies and data points extolling Saphyr's ability to recognize structural variations in everything from various types of cancer to genetic disorders and recurrent pregnancy loss. In theory, Saphyr can play a key role in helping researchers and drug developers fight hard-to-treat diseases.Another positive for Bionano Genomics is its healthy cash position. After its share price went parabolic to begin 2021, management wisely chose to issue stock to raise plenty of capital. The company ended September with approximately $180 million in cash, cash equivalents, and available-for-sale securities. That's more than enough to offset quarterly losses as the company continues to innovate and look for ways to expand Saphyr's utility. So, why is Bionano Genomics at $2.09 per share and not $12? The answer to that question largely has to do with Saphyr not being an approved diagnostic system by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Without this approval, Saphyr's utility is limited within the United States. It's not exactly clear if and when Saphyr might get the green light from the FDA, either.Although Bionano's cash does provide a somewhat safe floor, the ceiling proposed by Brisebois and DeGeeter doesn't seem achievable without FDA support.Novavax: Implied upside of 1,153%The third supercharged growth stock with truly jaw-dropping upside potential, based on the price target of one analyst, is biotech stock Novavax. According to H.C. Wainwright analyst Vernon Bernardino, who last updated his firm's price target in March 2022, Novavax is poised to hit (drum roll) $207 per share. That represents a whopping 1,153% upside from where shares ended this past week.Bernardino's price target, which sits as the high-water mark among covering analysts, was based on the idea that Novavax would receive authorization to sell its protein-based COVID-19 vaccine, NVX-CoV2373, worldwide. Whereas the Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines rely on messenger-RNA (mRNA) technology, the Novavax vaccine is differentiated in that it relies on an older and more traditional application of introducing harmless pieces of spike protein to teach a person's immune system how to fight and/or prevent infection. The thinking here is that folks who were leery of getting an mRNA vaccine might be more willing to receive an initial series or booster shots from Novavax's protein-based COVID-19 vaccine.Something else that's working in Novavax's favor is the efficacy of NVX-CoV2373. Only three COVID-19 vaccines have reached the highly coveted 90% vaccine efficacy (VE) level. Those being Moderna (94.1%), Pfizer/BioNTech (95%), and Novavax (90.4%) with its U.S./Mexico trial in 2021. Even though VE is just one measure of efficacy, it's a strong enough headline number to keep Novavax in the global rotation as a major initial series and booster vaccine player.Similar to Bionano, Novavax is swimming with cash. The company ended the third quarter with $1.28 billion in cash and cash equivalents, which is more than enough to cover the future repayment of its convertible notes and fuel ongoing research. In particular, Novavax could be one of the first drug developers to bring a combination vaccine targeting COVID-19 and influenza to market. But even being a shareholder, I don't in any way foresee $207 as a viable price target for Novavax in 2023. With the company enduring numerous emergency-use filing delays and production snafus, it missed out on most of the low-hanging fruit in developed markets in 2022. Moving forward, it'll primarily be focusing its attention on recurring booster shots in developed countries and initial series vaccinations in emerging markets. While I believe Novavax is an amazing value at its current share price, it could take a couple of quarters before Wall Street realizes that as well. If sales growth continues, losses shrink, and the company advances its combination vaccines, it could certainly end 2023 on a much higher note than it'll finish 2022.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NVAX":0.9,"BNGO":0.63,"PLUG":0.63}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2700,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9920391967,"gmtCreate":1670428388560,"gmtModify":1676538366197,"author":{"id":"3585127383617030","authorId":"3585127383617030","name":"jadey5","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0e5258d43196f1849acb795224a5a961","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585127383617030","idStr":"3585127383617030"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Recession fears ","listText":"Recession fears ","text":"Recession fears","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9920391967","repostId":"1154805999","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1154805999","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1670403834,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1154805999?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-12-07 17:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Hot Chinese ADRs Crashed in Premarket Trading; Contracts for the S&P 500 were flat as investors marked time before next week’s Federal Reserve rate decision and inflation data. The dollar rose for a third day on haven demand.Recession fears were palpable in the bond market, where a yield inversion hit afour-decade extreme, sending 10-year rates below those on 2-year notes by the most since the early 1980s.“Recent economic data has highlighted the uncertainty over the economic outlook and the Fed’s response,” Mark Haefele, UBS Global Wealth Management’s chief investment officer wrote in a Wednesday note. “We expect further volatility and maintain our defensive exposure.”The S&P 500’s worst selloff in a month has been sharp enough to reverse the rally that followed Fed Chair Jerome Powell’scommentson a possible downshift in the pace of tightening, leaving the benchmark where it was a week ago just before he spoke.Wall Street executives Tuesday sounded the alarm about the prospect of recession as early as next year as the impact of Federal Reserve policy on growth begins to be felt.Weak trade datafrom China added to concerns about the global economy. China’s exports and imports both contracted at steeper paces in November as external demand continued to weaken and a worsening Covid outbreak disrupted production and cut demand at home.Oil fluctuated after touching the lowest level since last December on Tuesday as investors pared back crude positions amid a broader market sell-off. The decline for West Texas Intermediate, which settled near $74 on Tuesday, erased all of this year’s gains.Key events this week:EIA crude oil inventory report, WednesdayEuro zone GDP, WednesdayUS MBA mortgage applications, WednesdayECB President Christine Lagarde speaks, ThursdayUS initial jobless claims, ThursdayUS PPI, wholesale inventories, University of Michigan consumer sentiment, FridaySome of the main moves in markets:StocksThe Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.2% as of 8:56 a.m. London timeFutures on the S&P 500 were little changedFutures on the Nasdaq 100 were little changedFutures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were little changedThe MSCI Asia Pacific Index fell 1.3%The MSCI Emerging Markets Index fell 1.3%CurrenciesThe Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index was little changedThe euro was little changed at $1.0476The Japanese yen fell 0.3% to 137.42 per dollarThe offshore yuan was little changed at 6.9787 per dollarThe British pound rose 0.1% to $1.2151CryptocurrenciesBitcoin fell 1.2% to $16,785.75Ether fell 2.2% to $1,228.33BondsThe yield on 10-year Treasuries declined two basis points to 3.51%Germany’s 10-year yield declined three basis points to 1.77%Britain’s 10-year yield declined two basis points to 3.06%CommoditiesBrent crude fell 0.6% to $78.91 a barrelSpot gold rose 0.3% to $1,775.52 an ounce","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NQmain":0.9,"YMmain":0.9,"ESmain":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2094,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9991343011,"gmtCreate":1660783717235,"gmtModify":1676536398479,"author":{"id":"3585127383617030","authorId":"3585127383617030","name":"jadey5","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0e5258d43196f1849acb795224a5a961","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585127383617030","idStr":"3585127383617030"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok ","listText":"Ok ","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9991343011","repostId":"2260087524","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2260087524","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1660779855,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2260087524?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-18 07:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bed Bath & Beyond Stock Plunges After Ryan Cohen Files to Unload Stake","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2260087524","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., the struggling retailer turned meme-trader darling, skidded a","content":"
\n
(Bloomberg) -- Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., the struggling retailer turned meme-trader darling, skidded as much as 21% in postmarket trading after a top investor suggested he has soured on the stock.Ryan ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; RC is the retailer’s second-largest holder after BlackRock Inc., according to data compiled by Bloomberg, with an 11.8% stake as of April 21.Bed Bath & Beyond has risen more than 400% from a late-July low as retail investors embraced it. The bullish thesis was also very simple: we were past the peak inflation and expected to be past the peak headline inflation given the falling commodity prices, and thus, past the Fed hawkishness. Further, given the still positive yield curve spread between the 10Y Treasury Bond and the 3-month Treasury Bill, the probability of an imminent recession was very low. Thus, I expected at least a nice (and significant) counter-trend summer rally.

Downgrade from buy to neutral

Since reaching the (cycle) bottom on June 16th, S&P 500 is up almost 13%, and SPY is currently at 411 near the breakeven of my May 30th buying point, and significantly higher than my June 27th and July 18th buying points. I am willing to take profits on these long positions. Here is the SPY chart that illustrates the significant countertrend bounce to the top range:

SPY data by YCharts

I am downgrading SPY to neutral for these reasons:

1) The 10Y-3mo spread has significantly narrowed to 0.26%, which is although still positive, getting really close to inversion. Thus, the probability of an imminent recession is too high to ignore now. Here is the chart;

FRED

2) Even more problematic is that the narrowing of the 10Y-3mo is also created by the falling 10Y yields, which signals the economic slowdown. More importantly, the 10Y yields are falling due to the falling real rates, which is signaling a possible flight to quality and expectations on policy easing (not tightening). Here is the chart of 10Y TIPS (real interest rates), which have fallen towards the zero percent level (0.20%):

FRED

3) The credit risk is rising. The spread between BBB-10Y is reaching the cyclical high at 2.42%. Although this spread is still modest and requires the rise above 3% to be considered high, the trend is to the upside.

4) The market is now pricing that the Fed would start cutting interest rates in July of 2023, which indicates the expectations of a possible recession in 2023. Here are the current monetary policy expectations, based on Global Academic View report:

Global Academic View

Considering the point 2 (falling real interest rates) and 4 (expectations on interest rate cuts), the market is likely to respond negatively to slowing economic data and start pricing the Phase 2of the bear market - an imminent recession selloff.

Thus, I am willing to take profit on the summer rally bounce and evaluate what exactly the market is pricing next and initiate the new positions accordingly.

The Bearish case

The bearish case is now the baseline expectations, as long as the 10y-3mo spreads invert, and the 10Y continues to fall. The bearish case is the Phase 2 of the full bear market - the pricing of an imminent recession, where the economic data slows and corporate earnings get downgraded.

The Bullish case

The bullish case is the soft landing case, where the Fed makes the full dovish pivot and does not increase interest rates above the 10Y yields.

The Neutral case

The fact is, we still don't have enough information with respect to the bearish case or the bullish case. We don't know how is the Fed reacting to the potential rising unemployment, with still elevated inflation. Will the Fed tolerate a higher inflation to prevent a rising unemployment? Will the Fed specifically acknowledge that the 10Y yields are the celling for the Federal Funds rate?

The Fed Chair Powell indicated that the Fed is currently in the neutral, but also that further interest rate hikes are warranted. Well, this will invert the 10y-3mo curve and likely cause a recession.

More importantly, the S&P500 is now rising, and many are likely to start buying, while the shorts are likely to be forced to cover. So, the summer rally could continue - despite the worsening fundamentals.

I view this technical picture more as an opportunity to initiate short positions (if the bear case prevails). Thus, at this point, the neutral position means, I am not buying the summer rally anymore, and taking profits and tactical longs. It also means, I am waiting to initiate new positions, as the new set up emerges.

Note on recent SPY performance

Over the last month, SPY, which is the ETF that tracks S&P500, is up by 8.16%, led by Consumer Discretionary sector (XLY) up by 16.7% and Technology (XLK) up by 12%. Both of these are cyclical sectors that have bounced from the deep sell-offs, but given the expectations of an imminent recession, the performance of these sectors is unsustainable. It is likely that the recent performance is just a bounce, meaning, as the economy starts to visibly slow down, these cyclical sectors are more likely to continue to sell off, dragging the SPY to the next leg lower.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
S&P 500: Taking Profit On The Long Positions
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nS&P 500: Taking Profit On The Long Positions\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-08-02 23:37 GMT+8 Seeking Alpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
SummaryI am taking profits on the tactical long positions. At this point, I am neutral, with a bearish bias. The fundamentals have deteriorated, while stocks sharply bounced.Recent Recommendations of S&...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"SPY":"标普500ETF",".SPX":"S&P 500 Index"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4528449-sp500-taking-profit-on-long-positions","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1110799720","content_text":"SummaryI am taking profits on the tactical long positions. At this point, I am neutral, with a bearish bias. The fundamentals have deteriorated, while stocks sharply bounced.Recent Recommendations of S&P 500Here is my recent record on S&P 500 (NYSEARCA:SPY) (SP500) (SPX):After being a long-term bull, I turned bearish and recommended asellonSPYon March 25th 2022, at 451 on SPY. Though Amazon is best known for its e-commerce operation, the company also owns Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading cloud infrastructure service; it produces gadgets like e-readers, tablets and voice-activated devices; it runs a video streaming service; it's become a heavyweight in logistics, and it even owns Whole Foods.Amazon seeks to disrupt any industry where it can add value by prioritizing customers and for years, it has eyed the $800 billion healthcare industry. In 2018, it paid nearly $1 billion to acquire online pharmacy PillPack, and since then, it has opened virtual Amazon Care clinics. In 2018, it also formed a joint venture called Haven, with Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase to tackle the exorbitant healthcare costs, but the initiative failed and has been closed. Now, Amazon is taking its biggest step yet into the healthcare industry with its $3.9 billion (including debt) all-cash takeover of 1Life Healthcare, known by consumers as One Medical. On Thursday, Amazon announced its plans to pay $18 a share for the health tech company, a premium of 77% over its closing price yesterday, showing serious interest in getting the deal done. Amazon's stock did not react much to the development. 1Life shares surged nearly 70% on the news.Image source: Amazon.Amazon gets serious about healthcareOne Medical calls itself a \"human-centered, technology-powered U.S. primary care organization.\" It offers both in-person and virtual care, seeking to make healthcare more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable. The company was founded in 2002 and finished its most recent quarter with 767,000 members, a 28% increase from the prior year. For 2022, it expects revenue of $831 million to $853 million, and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $130 million to $150 million. It's not clear what Amazon intends to do with One Medical -- if it will fold it into the Amazon Care brand, or have it continue to operate separately -- but the press release explained why Amazon finds One Medical attractive.Neil Lindsay, SVP of Amazon Health Services said the company believes healthcare is in need of reinvention, saying, \"We see lots of opportunity to both improve the quality of the experience and give people back valuable time in their days.\" He added, \"Together with One Medical's human-centered and technology-powered approach to healthcare, we believe we can and will help more people get better care, when and how they need it. We look forward to delivering on that long-term mission.\" Human-centered and tech-powered sounds a lot like how Amazon would describe its approach to business.Amazon did say that Amir Dan Rubin will stay on as CEO of One Medical.Should you buy Amazon stock now? There's no doubt that the healthcare market presents a mouthwatering opportunity for Amazon. It's a giant industry, one of the few big enough to move the needle for Amazon, and it's been highly profitable for established incumbents. The industry is also notorious for opaque pricing and providing terrible patient experiences. In other words, many Americans would be happy to see Amazon step in with its reputation for customer service and willingness to take risks. However, the acquisition of One Medical isn't a guarantee of Amazon's success in healthcare. Its track record with acquisitions has been mixed. When Amazon bought Whole Foods, supermarket stocks plunged on the news, but in the five years since the acquisition, Amazon has struggled to increase Whole Foods' market share. In healthcare, Amazon still seems far from being a true disruptor. The PillPack acquisition hasn't made Amazon a force in the pharmacy business, and its telehealth venture has yet to catch fire. Haven, the joint venture, was a notable flop.Amazon tends to acquire companies in order to enter a market after it tries and struggles to go it alone. That doesn't mean the One Medical deal is a bad move. In fact, it shows Amazon is more serious than ever about making a play for the healthcare market, which is good news for Amazon investors hoping for new growth avenues. But it's too soon to judge whether the acquisition will ultimately pay off, especially as Amazon hasn't commented on any specific strategic initiatives related to the deal.Looking at the big picture, the move is a reminder of why Amazon stock has dominated over the decades. The company is unafraid to tackle new industries and has consistently leveraged its reputation for customer service and its Prime membership program to successfully enter new categories. Amazon Prime gives the company a direct relationship with more than 200 million households globally and it's easy to see how that advantage can drive its growth in healthcare.Today, the best reason to buy Amazon may be its cheap stock price as shares have pulled back sharply this year. Its history of growth and ramping profit margins thanks to AWS doesn't hurt either. In other words, Amazon doesn't need to succeed in healthcare for the stock to outperform, but disrupting the massive industry would certainly sweeten the deal.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AMZN":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2447,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9064839089,"gmtCreate":1652310911041,"gmtModify":1676535072687,"author":{"id":"3585127383617030","authorId":"3585127383617030","name":"jadey5","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0e5258d43196f1849acb795224a5a961","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585127383617030","idStr":"3585127383617030"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍","listText":"👍","text":"👍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9064839089","repostId":"1165010582","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1165010582","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1652279798,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1165010582?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-11 22:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"SoFi Stock Climbed 5% in Morning Trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1165010582","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"SoFi Technologies topped expectations with its latest results but delivered a mixed forecast","content":"

SoFi Stock Climbed 5% in Morning Trading.

SoFi Technologies Inc. topped expectations with its latest results Tuesday but delivered a mixed forecast.

SoFi Technologies Inc. topped expectations with its latest results Tuesday but delivered a mixed forecast in an earnings report that came out several hours before it was officially expected.

The financial services and loans company posted a net loss of $110.4 million, or 14 cents a share, compared with a loss of $177.6 million, or $1.61 a share, in the year-prior period.
