Bank stocks? Maybe you’re into tech stocks, or large-cap names. Maybe you love real estate investment trusts or IPOs. Or maybe you’re an investor who plays with exchange traded funds, mutual funds or index funds.Whatever you like, there’s a stock (or a dozen) that is right for you. Some stocks on the market are tremendously expensive – think Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) Class A shares priced at more than $480,000, or Amazon (AMZN) which currently is at $2,341. You can also find penny stocks that are a buck or much less. For this exercise, we screened for mid-cap and large-cap stocks that are priced at $20 or less. We limited the screen to stocks that have a one-year return of 10% or better. And because we wanted to find good value, we also limited the screen to names that have a price-earnings ratio of less than 16.Here are three stocks to buy for less than $20 that are can’t-miss picks.FordI’ve gone back and forth on Ford Motor (F) since I’ve followed the market. I was pretty bullish on Ford a few years ago, but the company was a major disappointment for the last half of the 2010s.What’s changed?Well, I really like what Ford is doing with EVs. Ford realizes that EVs are a path toward future growth and profitability, so it makes perfect sense to transform the company’s product lines and factories to support electrification. Ford is spending $22 billion on the effort through 2025. It says all vehicles it sells in Europe will be electric by 2030.Last week, the company started production of the electric F-150 Lightning pickup in Dearborn, Michigan. The F-150 is the best-selling pickup in the U.S., and the Ford already has more than 200,000 reservations for the F-150 Lightning.Even though Ford has been hit hard by the semiconductor shortage, Ford stock is up 29% over the last 12 months. It also has a dirt-cheap P/E ratio of 5.3.Vermilion EnergyBased in Calgary, Vermilion Energy (VET) is an oil and gas producer with operations in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia. The company focuses on light oil and natural gas production in Canada, and the U.S., natural gas exploration in the Netherlands and Germany, and oilfields in Australia and France. The company also has a 20% interest in the Corrib gas field in Ireland.Oil and natural gas prices are on an upswing, in large part because of Russia’s war in Ukraine and the pressure it’s putting on European countries that are assisting Kiev. That will only help Vermilion Energy stock moving forward.Scotiabank analyst Galvin Wylie raised his firm’s price target on VET stock from C$27 to C$30 while keeping a “sector perform” ranking. National Bank analyst Travis Wood raised his firm’s priced target from C$34 all the way to C$53, keeping an “outperform” rating.VET stock up 181% in the last 12 months, and currently has a P/E ratio of 3.8.Mitsubishi UFJ Financial GroupMitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is a holding company that provides financial services in retail, corporate and investment banking. The company, headquartered in Tokyo, was founded in 2001.It operates in more than 50 countries and regions, and maintains about $3 trillion in assets.Bank of America recently upgraded its rating on MUFG stock from Hold to Buy, and set a new price target of 840 yen from it is previous target of 750 yen. BoA said the company’s 4% dividend makes it the highest among Japan’s major bank stocks.MUFG stock is up 9% over the last 12 months, and the stock is priced at an attractive P/E of 6.9.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"MUFG":0.9,"VET":0.9,"F":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2024,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9068907314,"gmtCreate":1651708608746,"gmtModify":1676534952462,"author":{"id":"3585558429173422","authorId":"3585558429173422","name":"Kaisiang92","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fa1000d7554eb3d45eef0d5bc747e0c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585558429173422","idStr":"3585558429173422"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy ","listText":"Buy ","text":"Buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9068907314","repostId":"1192982446","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1192982446","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1651708454,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1192982446?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-05-05 07:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"TSLA Stock Is a Buy as Tesla Ramps Up Shanghai Gigafactory","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1192982446","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA) is once again proving that nothing will keep it down. When China’s rising Covid-19 cases forced the electric vehicle (EV) leader to close the doors of its Shanghai gigafactory, it sparked concern. Some experts worried that the loss of production time would impede Tesla’s progress. For a while, those concerns were valid. Today, though, TSLA stock is back in focus on promising production reports out of Shanghai. One of the company’s biggest constraints may be subsiding. What’s Happening With TSLA StockTSLA stock has been rising since the beginning of the week. Why? Over the weekend, Zhang Hongtao, chief engineer of the Shanghai Economics and Information Technology Commission, addressed the company’s progress. At a press conference, he reported that Tesla production has returned to 80% of its previous output. That figure has been good for TSLA stock. With production its largest EV facility back on track, one of Tesla’s biggest barriers has likely been eliminated. Why It MattersWhile China’s lockdown policies remain mostly in place, the country has opted to let whitelisted companies resume production. Tesla is on this list, and competitors such as Volkswagen(OTCMKTS:VWAGY) have also returned to building cars at their China bases. The fact that Tesla has managed to get production close to pre-shutdown levels in just a few weeks should remind investors of its ability to keep moving forward.During Tesla’s recent earnings call, Elon Musk promised that the company’s Shanghai operations would be “coming backwith a vengeance.”His company is already delivering on that promise and it is poised to expand these efforts.Tesla is planning to build a new facility next to the Shanghai gigafactory, creating “the world’s largest vehicle export hub.”StreetInsiderreports that this new factory would be able to turn out 450,000 EVs per year. With the first stage of construction completed, the plant will begin producing Tesla Model 3 and Model Ys.Of course, the Shanghai shutdowns were not Tesla’s only constraint. Supply chain concerns still remain a problem for all EV producers. However, they haven’t stopped Tesla from keeping pace with demand yet. And Musk is helping position the company to stay ahead of its competitors through its recently announced battery progress. All signs point to Tesla seeing smoother roads ahead as it moves forward in the EV race, particularly with production in China set to increase by such significant margins. What Comes NextAs The Guardian reported late in 2021, “China is the world’s biggest market for EVs with total sales of1.3mvehicles last year, more than 40% of sales worldwide.” Demand throughout the country is only rising as the energy crisis inadvertently steers consumers toward EV purchases and Tesla is still the best positioned manufacturer to provide them. The newly expanded Shanghai plant is exactly what the company needs to dominate China’s EV market. Now that the Shanghai gigafactory is demonstrating quick progress and getting to scale even more, investors can rest assured that Tesla’s share of China’s booming market will help elevate TSLA stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2817,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9063641493,"gmtCreate":1651465051795,"gmtModify":1676534911411,"author":{"id":"3585558429173422","authorId":"3585558429173422","name":"Kaisiang92","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fa1000d7554eb3d45eef0d5bc747e0c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585558429173422","idStr":"3585558429173422"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$Bargain of the century ","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$Bargain of the century ","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$Bargain of the century","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/fe923c13c6d2920f7aa945eb291fd2bc","width":"750","height":"2548"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9063641493","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1910,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087255417,"gmtCreate":1651018843202,"gmtModify":1676534834362,"author":{"id":"3585558429173422","authorId":"3585558429173422","name":"Kaisiang92","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fa1000d7554eb3d45eef0d5bc747e0c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585558429173422","idStr":"3585558429173422"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Shot ","listText":"Shot ","text":"Shot","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087255417","repostId":"2230480890","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2119,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087002457,"gmtCreate":1650930441303,"gmtModify":1676534816554,"author":{"id":"3585558429173422","authorId":"3585558429173422","name":"Kaisiang92","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fa1000d7554eb3d45eef0d5bc747e0c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585558429173422","idStr":"3585558429173422"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok ok","listText":"Ok ok","text":"Ok ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087002457","repostId":"1145588523","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1145588523","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1650885266,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1145588523?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-25 19:14","market":"us","language":"en","title":"S&P 500 Ready to Join Bear Market, Says Morgan Stanley","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1145588523","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"With defensive stocks now expensive, few places to hide: MSMorgan Stanley strategists cite tightenin","content":"
\n
With defensive stocks now expensive, few places to hide: MSMorgan Stanley strategists cite tightening Fed, recession woesThe S&P 500 is about to drop sharply, Morgan Stanley’s Michael J. Wilson warned, as investors struggle to find havens amid fears of a recession and aggressive tightening by the Federal Reserve.“With defensive stocks now expensive and offering little absolute upside, the S&P 500 appears ready to join the ongoing bear market,” said Morgan Stanley strategists in a note on Monday. “The market has been so picked over at this point, it’s not clear where the next rotation lies. In our experience, when that happens, it usually means the overall index is about to fall sharply with almost all stocks falling in unison.”The S&P 500 Index has slumped for three weeks in a row, sinking to the lowest level since mid-March on Friday as investors fled risk assets amid fears of rapid monetary tightening and its impact on economic growth. Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s endorsement of aggressive actions to curb inflation sent traders racing to price in half-percentage-point interest-rate increases at the bank’s next four meetings.Morgan Stanley strategists said a quickly tightening Fed is looking “right into the teeth of a slowdown” and that while defensive positioning has worked well since November, they don’t see more upside for these stocks as their valuations have swelled. At the same time, the strategists said that large-cap pharma and biotech shares’ defensive characteristics make them consistent outperformers in an environment of slowing earnings growth, decelerating PMIs and tighter monetary policy.“As the U.S. economy moves to a late cycle phase and GDP/earnings growth rates decelerate for the overall economy and market, we think Pharma/Biotech’s defensive properties will outweigh policy concern and drive relative performance higher,” they wrote.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{".IXIC":0.9,".DJI":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2327,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087002159,"gmtCreate":1650930426487,"gmtModify":1676534816537,"author":{"id":"3585558429173422","authorId":"3585558429173422","name":"Kaisiang92","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3fa1000d7554eb3d45eef0d5bc747e0c","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3585558429173422","idStr":"3585558429173422"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cool","listText":"Cool","text":"Cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087002159","repostId":"2230413145","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2230413145","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1650895432,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2230413145?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-25 22:03","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The Stock Market Selloff Still Has Another 20% to Go, Says the Godfather of Liquidity","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2230413145","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"As the meat of earnings season begins, it’s worth noting what investors have learned so far. The short version is, apart from a few isolated companies (cough, Netflix, cough), not a whole lot: the projected rise in S&P 500 earnings per share this year stands at 8.9%, compared with 8.1% at end of March, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

But even as expectations toward earnings have improved, the market has struggled, with the S&P 500 down 6% this month so far. So what’s going on?

Well, reserves at the Fed fell by $460 billion last week, which according to Citigroup was the biggest weekly drop ever. So let’s hear what that means from Michael Howell, dubbed the godfather of global liquidity, and the chief executive of CrossBorder Capital, a boutique he formed in 1996 after heading the research teams at Baring Securities and Salomon Brothers. Howell explained to Jack Farley of Blockworks Macro that, by global liquidity as opposed to market liquidity, he means the ability to change investment positions relatively easily. “If you put more liquidity into a financial system, what’s happening is you are decreasing systemic risks, because it’s much easier for any particular entity to get funding, and if funding is easy, people will move along the risk curve into higher risk instruments,” he said.

The central banks, through monetary operations, control a large part of liquidity. He also monitors the actions of commercial banks, shadow banks, big corporations such as Microsoft and Alphabet and cross-border investors.
