Prudential Trade: Selling at $120.25 After Buying at $107.35 – Planning for a Buyback
Locking in Gains at a Strong Resistance Level
After purchasing Prudential (PRU) at $107.35, I decided to sell a portion of my holdings today at $120.25, securing a solid profit. The stock had a strong run-up, and I recognized a key resistance level forming around this price. Rather than holding through potential volatility, I took the opportunity to realize gains while the stock was near recent highs.
Waiting for a Retracement to Buy Back
My strategy remains flexible—I am not exiting my Prudential position entirely. Instead, I am looking for a pullback or retracement to re-enter at a lower price. Markets often move in cycles, and after such a strong rally, I expect some profit-taking or a temporary dip, which would allow me to accumulate shares again at a discount.
Capital Rotation and Strategic Trading
By selling at $120.25, I am freeing up capital that can be used for other trading opportunities or cash-secured puts. Prudential remains a solid long-term investment, but I am taking advantage of short-term price fluctuations to optimize returns.
Conclusion
This trade aligns with my approach of buying low, selling high, and re-entering on dips. If Prudential retraces, I will look to buy back at a lower price, continuing to maximize my profit potential while managing risk effectively.
