$Trump Media & Technology(DJT)$ Trumpβs First 100 Days: From Red Hats to Red Ink? πΊπ©Έ
Bleeding markets donβt lie, and the opening act of Donald Trumpβs second term is reading like a masterclass in self-inflicted volatility.
Tracking his first 100 days, I see a presidency already losing altitude. His approval rating has cratered to 39%, the lowest for any American president at this stage in modern history. The S&P 500 has plunged nearly 8%. The Nasdaq has bled over 10%. The U.S. dollar index has lost 9% against major peers.
This is not a cyclical dip. It is the financial fallout of fractured leadership.
Trumpβs reimposed tariffs on China, Europe, and Mexico have reignited trade wars at the worst possible moment, when global supply chains were struggling to stabilise. His attempts to talk down the dollar have triggered an exodus of capital, with foreign investors rushing into hard assets and safe havens. Economic unilateralism clashes with the marketβs demand for global coherence, and right now, the market is pushing back.
Financial conditions are tightening fast. Mortgage rates are stuck above 7%. Small business optimism has cratered to pandemic-era lows. Credit spreads are flashing systemic stress. Even the bond market is beginning to quietly price in recession probabilities.
πWhen Walmart, Target, AND Home Depot all say βthis dudeβs bad for business,β believe them.
Yet chaos often plants the seeds of opportunity. If Trumpβs $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill survives Congress, it could light up industrials ($XLI), materials ($XLB), and heavy machinery names like $CAT and $DE. Defence contractors are also moving under the radar, with Trump rattling sabres at China and pressuring NATO, military suppliers like $LMT, $RTX, and $NOC are seeing growing accumulation.
Still, these bright spots do not mask the broader decline. Without a complete pivot, scrapping tariffs, rebuilding Fed trust, and rebooting corporate investment incentives, stability will remain elusive. Capital, after all, is merciless. It moves not with patriotism, but with logic.
Donald Trump is now so unpopular that heβs losing elections in OTHER countries. The only thing Trump did in his first 100 days was unite π¨π¦ Canada, oh and play β³οΈ
π My 100-Day Takeaway:
Markets reward coherence, not chaos. Trumpβs second-term strategy so far is delivering neither.
βοΈ While many aligned with the prevailing sentiment during the election poll, @koolgal and I were among the few who withheld our support for Trump. We recognised early that policy misalignment, not political theatrics, would ultimately define market confidence. Time, it seems, is proving that assessment correct.
Hey Tiger Traders, if you had just one shot to rewrite Trumpβs economic plan, what is the one principle you would prioritise to steady the ship?
