WINTER IS COMING / HAS ENDED?
Thought the roller coaster ride was over and my portfolio would rocket to the moon — but fate had other plans for me. This single stock, UNH, which makes up 10% of my portfolio, single-handedly dragged it down by around 7%. Thank God the market was still okay last night — I can't imagine what my portfolio would look like if it had been a down day.
After reviewing UNH, the fundamentals are still the same. We already knew earnings wouldn't be fantastic this year. But yesterday, they announced they won't be providing any further 2025 outlook. I guess things aren't as rosy as we hoped.
Told my “gf" to buy more during the dip (it was down around 7% to 10%). She reluctantly did so, but not before complaining that the stock is “horrible.”
But is UNH really a horrible stock? I'm 100% confident this is a great company to invest in right now. No way am I buying Meta, Microsoft, Tesla, etc., at current prices — but I’ll gladly buy UNH at today’s levels.
For those who don't own UNH, consider buying some fractional shares or putting in an option position. I believe we'll see daylight within a year. That said, expect more ups and downs in the coming months — another classic example of “Liberation Day.”
As for me, I've rolled over my put options since my current margin can't afford to buy the shares. I'll continue holding my UNH shares and selling covered calls to earn some pocket money.
Don't panic sell if you have this stock, hor! We can weather this storm together!!!
