AMD has been stuck in a range between $163 and $151 for nearly a month. Interestingly, we’re right back at the same level as the last earnings report two months ago. The stock did make a run up to $186, only to tumble back to $149 before settling into this range.
Price action has been hovering around the 20EMA and 50EMA, showing no clear breakout yet. While AI remains the big talking point in tech, chip stocks like AMD aren’t getting the same spotlight lately — instead, quantum computing has been stealing the buzz.
For now, I expect AMD to keep trending sideways in the short term. I’ve been hedging the downside with covered calls, selling at higher strikes to avoid assignment. The premiums aren’t huge, but it’s still income while the stock chops around in this range.
