I once thought I was being clever by buying a stock right before earnings, convinced it would “definitely beat expectations.” The company did beat expectations… but then the CEO got on the earnings call and casually mentioned “unexpected supply chain headwinds.”


The stock tanked 15% overnight.


So technically, I was right… but my portfolio didn’t get the memo. The funny part? I remember sitting there with my coffee the next morning staring at the red numbers thinking: “Ah yes… the market is a comedian, and I just paid the ticket price for the show.”
