So gold has been interesting, I invested in $Santana Minerals Ltd(SMI.AU)$ at the beginning of this year. Well it's listed on the New Zealand stock exchange too cause it's mining gold in New Zealand, but my fellow tigers, well you can't invest in New Zealand stock,  but you can invest in the Australian version so all good.

Santana in New Zealand has the rights to mine gold, but very early days. All the reports look fantastic, but no income yet. And huge returns are years away. It's up over 50% for me, so I trimmed. I will take out all my initial investment and just play the house on stuff like this. Gold has been a terrible idea for a few decades, but now it's great.

So what did I do with the profits? History repeats. Silver follows gold... fact! So I brought $SILVER MINES LTD(SVL.AU)$ only up um like 10% so far. But hey, that's a win.

Why? As the emotional investor I constantly test my knowledge. To be fair, I'm just having fun with gold and silver, combined the two companies are around 2% of my portfolio. But in both companies, well I believe the management is solid and very experienced. And they will do way better than I could in a direct investment in gold or silver going forward.

personally I don't want to understand any of the commodities in detail going forward, my attention is focused elsewhere. but it is interesting. Never say never.

Happy trading my fellow tigers
