โ๐ New Position: Why I'm Anchoring My Long-Term Portfolio with Amazon
โStatus: Just opened 1st position (Accumulation Phase) ๐ข
Strategy: Long-term Core Holding / Scaling in on Dips
โToday I finally pulled the trigger on Amazon (AMZN). While many see it as just "e-commerce," I'm looking at the hidden engines that make this a top-tier compounder for 2026 and beyond.
โ๐ The "Three-Pillar" Logic
โ1. AWS & The AI Inflection โ๏ธ
We've officially moved past the "AI hype" into "AI execution." AWS growth has re-accelerated to 20%+ YoY as of our latest data. With the 2026 enterprise shift toward agentic AI models, Amazon's custom silicon (Trainium & Inferentia) is providing a massive cost advantage over peers.
โ2. The $80B Ad Powerhouse ๐
Advertising is now Amazon's fastest-growing high-margin segment. It's no longer just "sponsored products" - it's Prime Video, Twitch, and a massive DSP network. In 2025, we saw Ads hit a $70B+ run rate; I expect this to be the primary driver for FCF expansion this year.
โ3. Margin Expansion: The "Retail to Service" Shift ๐
For the first time, Retail is only ~40% of the business. Amazon is now a Commerce Infrastructure company. By regionalizing fulfillment and scaling 3P (Third-Party) services, their operating margins are hitting record levels.
โ๐ My Technical View & Entry Plan
โCurrent Entry: Scaled in at current levels to establish a "toe-hold."
โNext Add Zone: I'll be looking to add more aggressively if we see a macro-driven pullback to the 200-day SMA.
โFinal Thought: I'm not playing for a 5% swing. I'm playing for the structural re-rating of AMZN as the backbone of the AI economy.
