Singapore’s equities market posted strong gains this week, tracking a broader rally across regional markets. A weaker-than-expected U.S. nonfarm payroll report eased market concerns over monetary tightening risks. The Straits Times Index (STI) climbed more than 1% for the week, closing at a record high of 5,244.29 points.

In terms of individual stocks, $UOB(U11.SI)$ gained over 1% this week to hit a record high. $DBS(D05.SI)$ rose more than 2% across the week, $OCBC Bank(O39.SI)$ advanced 1.8%, while $YZJ Shipbldg SGD(BS6.SI)$ climbed 1.7%.
