$Microsoft(MSFT)$  Microsoft has been building up a roughly 27% stake in OpenAI, with around $13 billion committed over the past few years. Now there is talk of putting in a bit under $10 billion more in the new funding round.

At 27% ownership, the math starts to look pretty striking. With a $23 billion total investment, a $1 trillion OpenAI IPO would turn Microsoft's stake into $270 billion, for a clean $247 billion profit.

That is a colossal return, the kind of outcome that could reshape tech history.
