$SK hynix(SKHY)$  Data center moratoriums will probably keep rising because of power, water, and land constraints, but that doesn't necessarily mean AI hyperscaler investment slows down anytime soon. Hyperscalers are moving toward securing private green energy and off-grid nuclear power instead of pulling back on expansion, so a direct slowdown in chip orders isn't guaranteed.

Why moratoriums are increasing: local grids can't handle the electricity demand from AI servers, cooling systems use millions of gallons of water daily, and backup generators plus cooling fans create constant noise for nearby homes.

How hyperscalers are adapting: they're investing directly in nuclear, solar, and geothermal power, shifting data centers to rural areas with spare grid capacity, and newer chips and software require less power per task than older generations.

On chip orders, short-term demand still looks strong since tech giants keep placing massive orders to protect their market lead. Longer term, growth may smooth out or shift toward different chip types rather than dropping sharply.
