$ALKANE RESOURCES LTD(ALK.AU)$ The 2nd coming of gold... just like the 2nd coming of Trump... 2nd coming of Trump proves challenging for US and world at large, but the die was casted and the train 🚆 could not be stopped.

The 2nd coming of gold is equally inevitable... the train 🚂 has also left the station... Trump, going headlessly and needlessly into war, both physically and economically, has pushed dedollarisation ahead in time. US dollars 💸, with the raising fiscal deficit and compounding debts, is an unstoppable train.

Elon Musk, loves him or hates him, is a respected player in the economic game. I agree with him that the US debts could only be stopped if AI and robots outmanoeuvred the economy, generating excess that makes the debts redundant. The problem is time... or the lack of... meanwhile, alternate assets class such as gold, silver and even cryptocurrency stakes their claim to the new world order.

If this is not proof on the raising gold, I am not sure what will... Alkane has been going strength to strength. It is the proof of gold leveraging capability of a producing gold miner. Obviously, it is not the only one. Alkane moves from small cap just one to two years ago to a mid cap through both M&A and it's organic growth. It happens to be in the right place at the right time.

You might wonder why I introduce Alkane despite all the giant gold miners such as $NORTHERN STAR RESOURCES LTD(NST.AU)$  or $Newmont Mining(NEM)$ . Mid cap is a space with plenty of growth. In the mining space, big miners definitely are more stable, so risk is likely less. However, smaller miners are not necessarily more risky. We are not talking about micro or small explorers here. We are also not talking about a single mine holder. Those carry substantial risks, exploration doesn't guarantee mine ability. There is also the constant fund raising needs that results in dilutive effect on existing shareholders, like all other growth stocks.

This is a stable mid cap that has for the first time decided to pay dividends. Will it turn into its regular feature? I have no idea... but it demonstrates how far it has come. Having being a shareholder for a number of years, the management has not disappointed. This is the most important factor.

Many years ago, to focus on its resources on gold mining, the management spun off $AUSTRALIAN STRATEGIC MATERIA(ASM.AU)$ into a separate listing entity, with shares distributed among its shareholders. ASM had gone on to 10x its run in a short span of time when rare earth companies gone bonkers. A pity that I got greedy and didn't sell then. Now, ASM is delisting, having agreed to be bought out by $Energy Fuels(UUUU)$   . It's a great outcome and win-win for shareholders and management alike.

Alkane had itself undertook its own M&A and as a result, the current bigger and fitter self!

It is a personal journey with Alkane. More often than not, we need to be a shareholder to really understand what is good or bad about the company and its management. Companies finance could be doctored, management performance over the years can't...

Just my 2 cents.

Dedollarisation is the bigger driver here, not just inflation. Trade settlement, reserve diversification, and central bank buying are what make this gold leg feel stickier

Definitely… it has been developing for some time now… with the degradation in the confidence over USD and US as a trusted trading partner. The war - trade and physical, together with the ever-growing US government’s debts only act to push the other central banks towards gold accumulation.

Curious what multiple you put on the ASM buyout. Does that deal say anything about how the market should value Alkane's remaining rare earth optionality?

Alkane spun out ASM around mid 2020, which happened to be early COVID period. Alkane distributed all its ASM shares to its shareholders and retained none for itself. The current acquisition between ASM and UUUU does not in anyway affect Alkane, since it is no longer a shareholder.
