$Lumentum(LITE)$  What Lite-On is doing aligns directly with the broader global semiconductor alliance. The partnership framework shows Lite-On is not building a standalone solution; it is using POET Technologies' patented Optical Interposer platform to serve the massive demands of hyperscale data centers. This creates a unified tech standard. Because POET's passive interposer acts as a universal docking station, optical modules built by Lite-On are mechanically and architecturally aligned to plug into the broader ecosystem, meaning they can route data to and from a TSM-fabricated chip, use lasers from Lumentum, and support power hardware designed by NVDA.

It is a massive advantage that independent U.S. designers hold the core IP for these passive interposers, but the U.S. historically had to rely entirely on Taiwan for physical assembly and manufacturing. To hedge against geopolitical freezes, the U.S. is rewriting the playbook.
