$Apple(AAPL)$ would you buy more $Apple(AAPL)$ ? Yes — I would keep AAPL for the long term, but I’m less enthusiastic about adding aggressively at current levels than I am about $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ or some of the semiconductor.
Apple’s fundamentals are actually quite strong right now. Its fiscal Q3 2026 revenue was $109.4B, up 16% YoY, with EPS up 29%, and iPhone, Mac and Services all hitting June-quarter records.
🍎 My AAPL outlook
Long-term rating: 8/10 — HOLD / ACCUMULATE on pullbacks
The interesting thing now is that Apple has several potential catalysts:
* iPhone 18 cycle — early demand appears strong.
* First foldable iPhone, Duo — Apple has entered the foldable market with a ~$1,999 device. This could create a new premium upgrade cycle.
* AI/Siri — the new Siri AI is important because Apple has lagged Google/Meta/OpenAI in consumer AI.
* Services — increasingly valuable recurring revenue.
* Huge installed base — Apple says its active installed base has reached another all-time high.
The problem: valuation
This is where I’d be more cautious.
Apple is an excellent company, but investors already pay a premium for that quality. At the current price around the low-$300s, I’d prefer to buy on weakness rather than chase strength.
The recent earnings outlook also wasn’t perfect: Apple warned about supply-chain pressures, and its September-quarter revenue outlook came in below Wall Street expectations.
There’s also a new CEO transition. John Ternus took over from Tim Cook on September 1, so the next couple of years will tell us whether Apple can maintain its extraordinary execution under new leadership.
For your portfolio
You previously mentioned 55 AAPL shares at about $425.60.
If that position is still current, I would NOT sell it simply because AAPL isn’t the fastest-growing AI stock.
I’d think of it this way:
Stock My role in portfolio
AAPL 🟢 Core quality / capital preservation
META 🟢 Higher-growth core
GOOGL 🟢 Growth + attractive valuation
MU 🟢 AI/memory supercycle
NVDA 🟢 AI leader, higher valuation
CRCL 🟡 High-growth/speculative
MSTR/BITX/SOXL 🔴 High-beta/speculative
So AAPL is a stock I’d keep for 5+ years, whereas CRCL needs much more active monitoring.
What would make me add?
I’d be much more interested around:
$290–300: 🟢 Start adding
$270–290: 🟢 Stronger buy
$250–270: 🟢 Aggressive long-term opportunity
>$330–340: 🟡 Hold rather than chase
And if your 55-share $425.60 cost basis is still correct, I’d actually look at the current price as an opportunity to lower your average cost, rather than viewing the position as something to exit.
Bottom line: AAPL = KEEP.
I like $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ more for growth, $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ more for valuation, and big player like Micron more for near-term earnings momentum, but Apple remains one of the better long-term compounders in your portfolio.
