Iggy’s Journal: You Probably Use Two or Three of the Seven Investing Styles Already. Here Is How to Tell

The Numbers

An illustration from the episode: a S$100,000 holding that pays S$5,000 a year yields 5%. If the price falls to S$90,000 and the payout stays at S$5,000, the yield is about 5.6%, and the holding is S$10,000 lower in value.

My Personal Take

The S$5,000 is the number I would look at in this example, because it never moved. The price fell S$10,000 and the yield rose anyway. A higher yield is easy to see, and a smaller holding underneath it is harder to see.
