Last week (June 02 - 06) was all about jobs. The 3 major jobs reports were released consecutively from Wednesday to Friday, and US market reacted accordingly. But what is truly the bigger picture, read to the end to find out! Private Sector Employment. On Wed, 04 Jun 2025, the major economic news of the day was ADP’s private sector employment report. It saw the US economy add only 37,000 jobs in May - a low number, spurred fears that ongoing trade war may finally be starting to affect US economy’s hard data. Last Week’s Performance. Last week (June 02 - 06), US stocks were influenced by a strong jobs report, that helped markets close on a high note. Major indices like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq saw pressure earlier in the week, but positive labour data and easing trade tensions led to a rebound, with stocks edging toward record levels by Fri, 06 Jun 2025. trading strat: none but never try, never know
Background: Loves math, worked in a bank (derivatives) but I'm a noob in the market with my own money (I only trade SG equity so far, leverage scares me I don't think I can sleep at night but maybe will dabble next year). It's easier to manage other people's money instead of your own, so trading is psychology. Risk averse, but turning from an investor to a trader (hopefully with some success). I'm still playing safe with money siloed, and insurance savings plans bought years ago (regretting them as the years pass on but oh well). I cannot articulate how, but I'm happy with the results so far. I trade primarily $YZJ Shipbldg SGD(BS6.SI)$ mainly due to volume and volatility.
