Tariff Tensions Shake Global Markets

Market Overview Global markets ended mixed on July 7 as escalating trade tensions, sparked by renewed U.S. tariff threats, rattled investor confidence. U.S. equities suffered broad-based losses after President Trump confirmed 25% tariffs on imports from Japan and South Korea starting in August. European markets defied the negativity, anticipating a resolution to ongoing trade talks. Meanwhile, Asia saw marginal declines, reflecting regional sensitivity to U.S. policy shifts. U.S. Markets: Tariff Fears Trigger Sell-off U.S. stocks retreated sharply as fresh trade war rhetoric dominated sentiment. The Dow Jones $DJIA(.DJI)$  dropped 422 points (-0.9%) to 44,406.36, while the S&P 500

Tesla’s Cosmic Voyage: Elon Musk, Earth’s Trailblazing Hero

In a world racing toward an uncertain future, one figure stands as a beacon of audacious innovation, a hero not just for our planet but for the cosmos beyond. Elon Musk, the visionary behind Tesla, is no mere entrepreneur—he’s a modern-day Prometheus, wielding technology to ignite humanity’s path to the stars. Tesla, his flagship enterprise, is more than a company; it’s a vessel for revolutionizing transportation, energy, and artificial intelligence. As an investor, I’m bullish on Tesla not just for its groundbreaking achievements but for the indomitable spirit of the man steering it. Here’s why Tesla and Musk deserve our unwavering optimism, framed through the lens of a hero’s journey and the boundless potential of a great enterprise. Navigating the Tariff Tempest: Trump’s Trade Gamble and Global Markets As the clock ticks toward the critical tariff deadlines under President Donald Trump’s second administration, the world watches with bated breath. It’s 1:02 PM NZST on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, and with the initial 90-day tariff pause expiring tomorrow, July 9, followed by a potential escalation to higher rates on August 1, the global economy teeters on the edge of uncertainty. Trump’s bold tariff strategy, launched in April 2025 with a 10% baseline and country-specific hikes (e.g., 46% on Vietnam, 34% on China), aims to reshape U.S. trade dynamics. Yet, as negotiations stall and markets fluctuate, this high-stakes gamble raises questions about its efficacy and long-term impact. Let’s unpack this tariff tempest and its imp

Don't be fooled by the post-market actions of Tesla shares. Post market is low volume. What is more important is what will be the response from Donald Trump. I believe Turmp's first cmments were mutated because he was focused on signing off the new tariff letters. Now that this is out of the way, I think he will be focused on putting Elon Musk out of his misery. Trump will go full guns on Elon Musk. He cannot afford to have Musk succeed on his 3rd party. Especially with mid-term primaries coming up for Congress election.

Seeking Undervalued High-Yield Sectors With Huge Tailwinds

For investors to have a stable, growing dividend portfolio, diversification is crucial, but if we can overweight high-conviction sectors, then it can boost long-term total returns and income growth. Both AI infrastructure and midstream energy infrastructure are riding powerful secular tailwinds, and interestingly, both offer pockets of undervaluation and yield though in very different ways. In this article I would like to share what I think of this opportunity and how to trade with the advantage of these two sectors, AI infrastructure space and midstream infrastructure sector. I don’t think musk’s America Party will succeed. Don’t fight history. Although he is well known, I don’t think he has the political aptitude. I also think his policies will favour Tesla rather than the nation. I won’t hold Tesla. After all, competition in the EV industry is intense and we never know if he will be distracted with politics to focus and advance the interests of Tesla. I think it will be back to the fear of a distracted CEO and this is obviously the market’s fear. Tesla stock will only do well if musk focus on his company and less on other toys just because he has the money. Trump is even more unpredictable than musk. So, I won’t know if trump will be more hostile towards Tesla. But we all know that trump has favoured traditional energy sources so even if he is hostile towar

I have been following the recent buzz around Tesla $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$   after Elon Musk announced the formation of the "American Party," which seems to have triggered a drop in Teslas stock below 290, sparking some concerns. It is an interesting turn of events, and I cannot help but wonder what is next for the company. The questions being thrown around, like whether I am bullish or bearish on Tesla, make me reflect on Musks leadership and the companys resilience. As for my stance, I would say I am cautiously optimistic, though it is hard to pin down without more data. Musk has a track record of turning things around when the odds seem stacked against him, and I believe he might just pull it off again. The

TOPReglloyd: Brilliant post. Never bet against Mr Musk. If Trump decides to slow Tesla in any way , Trump has Wall Street , investors and employees to deal with as Tesla provides much employment opportunities. Let’s see on this unfolds going forward. My opinion is it’s possibly the best thing that could have happened to the Tesla brand. Free advertising, free publicity & when you’re in the news or media you become a sort of celebrity. Just look at the publicity Mr Trump harnessed in the last 4 years as they came after him. Was this a good thing and or did he come out on Top ? These are questions we need to ask and explore. Well done.
