What stands out to me is that NVIDIA and Marvell both delivered strong results, but the market was trading expectations, not just earnings. NVIDIA initially dipped because huge beats had become the norm, but Jensen Huang's comments on accelerating AI demand, Rubin production and long-term growth gave investors a reason to reprice the stock higher. For Marvell, expectations had already become extremely high after the Google custom-silicon deal and its huge YTD rally. The fundamentals remain strong, but investors learned that the bigger Google revenue contribution may take longer to materialize, so the market reset its timeline and valuation. My takeaway is simple: earnings are about the gap between reality and expectations. NVIDIA raised expectations for the future, while Marvell pushed so

I really like Jeremy’s “Old Testament vs. New Testament” analogy. Graham gives us the foundation—valuation and margin of safety—while Buffett shows why owning great businesses with strong moats can be even more powerful. The $BYD COMPANY(01211)$ example stood out to me. Long-term investing requires patience and conviction, especially when the market hasn’t fully recognised a company’s potential. Position sizing also matters because even a great thesis can hurt if the position is too large. My biggest takeaway is to treat every stock as owning part of a real business. If I couldn’t sell a stock for three years, I’d want to be confident in its moat, management

I really like Jeremy’s point that retail investors have an “invisible superpower” — our industry knowledge and everyday observations. We may not have the resources of fund managers, but we can spot changes in consumer behaviour, products and businesses before they show up in the numbers. The Pop Mart, Haidilao and PDD examples stood out to me. I also like using stage analysis as a co-pilot rather than relying on charts alone. For me, the sweet spot is when strong fundamentals, improving business momentum and technical strength all start pointing in the same direction. My biggest takeaway is to pay more attention to what I see around me. A longer queue, a new product trend or a company suddenly expanding into a new market could be an early signal. If you haven't set a stop, set one now. Check your "sleep-at-night" ratio: Do your income-generating core holdings make up at least 20–30% of your portfolio? Check your circle of competence: How many of your holdings can you explain in one sentence — what they do and how they make money? For any you can't, consider trimming. Jeremy Tan: From "Old Testament" to "New Testament": The Evolution of Value Investing

Speaker: Jeremy Tan, Investment Representative at Tiger Brokers (Singapore) $Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ , as he shares how these concepts relate to modern market mechanics, including position sizing, catalysts and options. He will also bring you through the Barbell portfolio approach in global and Singaporean markets, alongside analytical frameworks used to assess global equities and the broader SEA small-cap market. [About the Speaker] Jeremy Tan is a seasoned investor with over 25 years of experience spanning equities, futures trading, property development, and business growth. Jeremy Tan: From "Old Testament" to "New Testament": The Evolution of Value Investing
TOPJerry Lam: I would choose Visa as the representative of "the widest moat". Its strongest point is not a single product, but the bilateral network effect formed by the global payment network: the more consumers there are, the more willing merchants are to connect. The more merchants there are, the more willing consumers are to use it. Once this cycle is formed, it will be difficult for latecomers to replace it simply by lowering prices. Moreover, Visa does not bear most of the credit risk; in essence, it is more like "collecting tolls" for every payment. As digital payments, cross-border consumption, and online transactions continue to grow, it can expand revenue and cash flow without significantly increasing capital investment. This is what I understand as the high ROE + asset-light + strong network effect. If we were to test it according to Jeremy's question of "can you still sleep after being suspended from trading for three years?", I would rather hold a company with a simple business model, stable cash flow, and long-term competitive advantage than buy a cheap stock just because the P/E is low. In short: Graham taught me not to buy high prices, and Buffett taught me what makes high prices worthwhile; The truly ideal investment is when a good company meets a good price.

Zhipu's stock tanked this afternoon — is this a classic 'buy the rumor, sell the news' bloodbath?

Today, Zhipu (02513) saw its share price fall more than 7.5% in the afternoon session, hitting an intraday low of HK$1,066. Dragged down by the sector, MiniMax also dropped over 4%. On the news front, Zhipu today launched the GLM-5.3-Flash model, officially claiming the recently hyped "Niulai" model, confirming earlier market speculation. The model currently ranks 10th on the AAII leaderboard, surpassing DeepSeek V4 ProMax, and topped OpenRouter's usage charts last week. Zhipu claims the model was trained on 100,000 domestic chips, with the market speculating that Huawei's Ascend chips were used. The sell-off may be attributed to a "buy the rumor, sell the fact" dynamic. Right after the midday break, between 13:04 and 13:05, three large sell orders (10,600 shares, 4,700 shares, and 4,800 s
