Tiger Newspress06-01 21:02

The S&P 500 moved lower on Monday, while oil prices moved higher, even as Nvidia led technology higher following the launch of a new chip for PCs.

The broad market index dropped 0.2%, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 210 points, or 0.4%.

NVIDIA stocks rose 3% in market trading after the world's most valuable company unveiled a new chip, set for release this fall, which brings AI capabilities to laptops and desktops.

The chip is a result of a three-year partnership with Microsoft to "reinvent the PC" for the AI era, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said. Microsoft shares added 3%.
