Boeing Resumes Testing of 777X Jet After Grounding Over Engine Mounting Structure Failure

MT Newswires Live01-17

Boeing (BA) resumed testing of its 777X widebody jet on Thursday, marking the first flight since the fleet was grounded in August due to an engine mounting structure failure, multiple media outlets reported Friday.

Reuters reported that the Federal Aviation Administration officials were not on board the flight of a 777-9 test plane that completed a round-trip flight from Boeing Field in Seattle to Moses Lake, Washington.

"We continue to execute a rigorous test program to demonstrate the safety, performance and reliability of the 777-9," Boeing said as quoted by Reuters.

Boeing reportedly has 481 orders for the 777X from major airlines, including 170 from Emirates and 60 from Qatar Airways.

Boeing did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.

Same old sheet - companies with a great reputation and track record kill themselves and in this instance other innocent people as well by cost cutting measures that initially bring profits but undermine the integrity of quality builds and reliability that they are founded upon  Toyota had a similar problem after the global financial crisis where they were building cars like tin cans but managed to resurrect that quickly as they realised that the underlying value in Toyota as a company was its reputation in reliability and resilience  I doubt Boeing will ever be able to resurrect itself again due to its overlying performance in all regards of trust and good will of how far they have let the company go before attempting to resurrect it from the grave
