Reuters2025-03-27
March 26 (Reuters) - Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Wednesday that the impact of U.S. President Donald Trump's auto tariffs on Tesla is "significant."
"Important to note that Tesla is NOT unscathed here. The tariff impact on Tesla is still significant," Musk said in a post on X.
Musk further stated, "To be clear, this will affect the price of parts in Tesla cars that come from other countries. The cost impact is not trivial."
Tesla shares sank 5.6% on Wednesday.

No kidding, dude. You're manucaturing so many parts in Mexico (like the other US manufacturers as well). So as a true Patriot that you are, why don't you move all pre production to the US factories then? I mean your factory workers cannot be very busy right now with sales going so bad and no difference to that in sight.
This will greatly affect all the Tesla competitors like GM and Ford as their margins are negatively thin. Tesla is not as affected as compared to the rest as majority of their parts are created inhouse. This will caused tremendous amount of headwinds for their competitors and it will not be sustainable for them in the long run. It would seems like a double-edge sword but never bet against Elon + Trump relationship.
