$UAL United Airlines reported strong Q4 2024 results, exceeding expectations with an adjusted EPS of $3.26 (vs. $2.99 estimated) and revenue of $14.7 billion (up 7.8% YoY). Passenger revenue reached $13.1 billion, while cargo revenue grew 30% YoY. Operational highlights include carrying a record 174 million passengers across 1.3 million flights, introducing 35 new international routes, and leading on-time departures at all seven hubs. CEO Scott Kirby emphasized the transformative year and optimistic outlook for 2025, with plans for fleet upgrades. $UAL was up 6% today.

$META Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly looking to compete with Apple’s AirPods. Meta Platforms is working on upgrades to its smart glasses and exploring new wearable devices, including watches and camera-equipped earbuds. The company is also developing Oakley-branded smart glasses for athletes this year, according to Bloomberg.

 According to sources cited by The Information, Palantir $PLTR is considering an investment in Shield AI, potentially making a $200 million investment at a $5 billion valuation. Shield AI is a technology company specializing in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, primarily for defense and military applications. The company develops AI-powered software and hardware to enable unmanned systems—such as drones and other robotic platforms—to operate autonomously in complex and contested environments.

 $AAPL Apple's iPhone sales in China declined by 18.2% year-over-year during the December quarter, dropping the company to third place in the market, according to Counterpoint Research. Huawei regained the top position with a 15.5% increase in sales, fueled by the success of its Mate 70 series and mid-range Nova 13 lineup. Apple’s new AI-enabled iPhones struggled to gain traction in China due to the unavailability of key features and the ongoing search for a local AI infrastructure partner. Globally, iPhone sales fell by 5% during the same period, while China's smartphone market experienced its first quarterly decline of 2024, following earlier growth in the year. $AAPL was down 3% today and is now down from a high of $260 in December 2024.

Tesla $TSLA has had its price target raised to $500 (up from $315) by Piper Sandler. They wrote: "We think investors are starting to appreciate Tesla's potential in ‘real-world’ A.I., and as a result, PMs are more willing to entertain upside scenarios. That said, the long-term narrative often takes a back seat when current-year estimates are falling, and in this regard, the outlook is highly uncertain. In our opinion, it's clear that Tesla's thesis will ultimately depend on new-age opportunities like Optimus robots and neural-net-training-as-a-service. The problem is, these nebulous revenue streams are difficult to incorporate into a DCF. Given this, we're shifting to a P/E-based valuation methodology.
