Stocks to watch today — Aug 12 📈 $SMCI — The cleanest AI momentum setup after earnings. Q2 beat expectations despite a revenue miss, while strong AI infrastructure demand is keeping the growth narrative intact. Watch whether the post-earnings gap holds; a failed breakout would suggest the move is becoming overextended. $CRWV — Another AI high-beta name reporting strong record revenue. The key question is whether earnings can translate into sustained multiple expansion, given the stock’s sensitivity to expectations around AI capex. $LITE — AI optical networking exposure is back in focus after a strong earnings reaction. Fundamentals are improving, but valuation and forward guidance will determine whether this is a sustainable rerating or another momentum spike. $CSCO — More defensive way to

The RKLB reaction is a good example of why headline growth alone isn't enough to justify a momentum valuation. Q2 revenue hit a record $234.1M (+62% YoY), backlog expanded to $2.36B, and gross margin came in at 41.5%. On the surface, that's a strong fundamental print. But the forward numbers tell a more nuanced story: Q3 revenue guidance of $250–265M implies continued ~7–13% QoQ growth, while gross-margin guidance of 29–31% is materially below both Q2's 41.5% and the ~37.6% consensus.  With RKLB having rallied ~27.5% in the week into earnings, the issue wasn't whether the quarter was good — it was whether the incremental fundamentals were sufficient to support the expectations embedded in the multiple.  That's the key distinction in high-beta thematic trades: growth drives the na

$XPeng Inc.(XPEV)$ Definitely bearish on XPEV - It's a good company but way too much uncertainty right now - I would probably sell off and buy back later when it dips more - I predict that the earnings won't be great and the stock will dip to about 14.8. I am likely going to be selling some options and I think with 17/08 premarket increase, some investors are just trying to not let the price fall but it's extremely volatile now and it would not be a good time to buy in my opinion. This is not investment or financial advice.

Just now, JD.com $JD.com(JD)$ $JD-SW(09618)$ announced the second quarter report, and the stock price fell more than 5% before the market:However, compared with analyst expectations, JD.com 's revenue and operating profit in the second quarter exceeded expectations. Since it is so "beautiful", why do investors flock out?The answer is its core business no improvement!First, let's take a look at the overall income. JD.com 's revenue in the second quarter was 287.9 billion yuan, an increase of 7.6% over the same period last year, exceeding analysts' expectations of 279.1 billion yuan:In terms of growth, although the 7.6% growth rate is much dimmer than the previous growth of more than 20%, it has at least ush

Not a good start for the market today with the $Invesco QQQ Trust-ETF(QQQ)$ and $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ flushing down from the market open.[Duh] With both indexes weakening, I decided to trade $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ which recently has bearish news. The trajectory of China stocks is a subject of conjecture, and offering a definitive affirmative or negative answer is challenging due to the multifaceted nature of market dynamics. As of recent times, China stocks have demonstrated resilience and growth, benefiting from robust economic expansion, technological advancements, and evolving global trade relations. Affirmatively, there are several reasons supporting the continuation of China stocks rallying. The country's commitment to innovation and technology-driven sectors has led to the emergence of industry leaders like Alibaba, Tencent, and Nio. These companies, along with others, have showcased consistent growth and are poised to capitalize on domestic and international market opportunities. Moreover, China's expanding middle class and
