Earned a Place in the S&P 500. Can Its Cybersecurity Business Justify the Rally?

$Okta Inc.(OKTA)$  is about to enter the S&P 500 after its shares more than doubled this year. It is a significant milestone for the cybersecurity company, but I think there is a bigger story here than simply joining a major stock index. The real question is whether Okta is becoming an increasingly important part of the next generation of cybersecurity, particularly as companies adopt more AI tools and automated agents. 1. Why S&P 500 inclusion matters Okta will join the S&P 500 before trading begins on Wednesday, November 4, replacing Kenvue. This move could bring additional demand from index-tracking funds and ETFs that need to hold Okta shares to reflect the index. It may also increase the company’s visibility among instit

Crocs Surges While Tech Stocks Slide. Is Consumer Spending Making a Comeback?

While technology stocks have been struggling with earnings disappointments, rising AI expenditure and valuation concerns, one unexpected name has caught investors’ attention: Crocs. $Crocs(CROX)$  shares surged approximately 25% at one point following better-than-expected quarterly earnings and an upgrade to its full-year guidance. It is an interesting contrast. For months, much of the market’s attention has been concentrated on AI infrastructure, semiconductor companies and cloud computing. Investors have been willing to pay substantial premiums for companies expected to benefit from the AI boom. But the latest market movements suggest that investors may be becoming more selective. When a consumer company such as Crocs delivers stronger

Alphabet Has Been Hammered. Is the Market Overlooking Its Long-Term AI Opportunity?

$Alphabet(GOOG)$  $Alphabet(GOOGL)$  Alphabet’s recent share-price decline has put investors in an uncomfortable position. After disappointing earnings and growing concerns about AI spending, Google’s parent company has become another example of how quickly market sentiment can change. But I think there is an important distinction between a company delivering disappointing quarterly results and a company losing its long-term competitive position. The two are not necessarily the same. The recent weakness in technology stocks has also created a more difficult environment for companies investing heavily in artificial intelligence. Investors are becoming increasingly concerned about rising cap

My pick is C. Trade between -5% and +5%, with a slight bullish bias. AI data-centre demand and stronger NAND pricing are positive catalysts for SanDisk. However, after the recent memory stock rally, some good news may already be priced in. I’d watch gross margin guidance closely. Strong margins would suggest the NAND pricing cycle still has room to run. I’d remain bullish long term but avoid chasing the initial earnings reaction.

I would back $LHX for the next quarter. CVNA has impressive volume growth and LLY continues to benefit from strong weight-loss drug demand, but LHX offers something particularly attractive: long-term revenue visibility. Its Q3 backlog reached a record $53.2 billion, up 47% year-on-year, with a 3.2x book-to-bill ratio. Free cash flow also increased 195% to $1.3 billion, giving the growth story more financial support. I would consider buying a pullback after the earnings rally, rather than chasing the initial price reaction. My key trigger would be backlog conversion into revenue and free cash flow. A large backlog is encouraging, but it only creates shareholder value if contracts translate into profitable delivery. For me, the combination of strong order growth, improving cash generat

I would look beyond revenue growth and focus on whether AI infrastructure spending is generating measurable returns. The strongest evidence would be sustained growth in AI-related revenue, improving operating margins and free cash flow, rather than simply higher capital expenditure. I would also want to see customers increasing AI usage and renewing contracts because the technology is delivering real productivity gains. For companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet, the key test is whether revenue from cloud and AI services can grow faster than the cost of building and operating the infrastructure. If returns improve while capital intensity gradually declines, that would give me greater confidence that today’s spending is creating long-term value rather than just expanding capacity.

Stock Pair of the Day: TSMC vs Micron – Which Semiconductor Stock Has More Upside?

Big Tech earnings have failed to give semiconductor stocks the boost many investors expected. Despite continued AI investment, chip shares remain under pressure as the market questions whether current spending levels can translate into sustainable earnings growth. Two companies worth watching are Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) and Micron Technology (MU). Both have delivered strong results, but their businesses offer different ways to participate in the AI boom. 1. TSMC (TSM): The Manufacturing Backbone TSMC is one of the most important companies in the global semiconductor industry. It manufactures advanced chips designed by companies such as Nvidia and AMD. Its latest third-quarter results showed revenue growth of 41.2% year over year, while earnings per ADR increased 57.5%. Str

Marvell’s $AI Ambitions: Smart Acquisition or Expensive Gamble?

The AI investment story is gradually moving beyond GPUs and data-centre processors. As AI clusters become larger and more complex, moving data between thousands of processors is becoming just as important as the computing power itself. This is creating new opportunities for companies supplying optical networking components, lasers, digital signal processors (DSPs) and high-speed interconnect technology. Marvell is positioning itself to capture more of this market. However, its latest share-price movement highlights an important concern: is the company strengthening its competitive position through a potential acquisition, or taking on too much financial and integration risk? Marvell shares fell 13.24% on Thursday, reversing the previous session’s 3.32% gain. Investors are weighing the

Cloud Doubles, Cash Flow Turns Negative: Is Alphabet Spending Too Much on the AI Race?

$Alphabet(GOOG)$  latest quarterly results highlight one of the biggest questions facing the technology sector: how much should investors tolerate today in exchange for potential AI growth tomorrow? For months, Big Tech companies have been competing to build larger data centres, secure advanced chips and expand their AI capabilities. The market initially rewarded this spending as evidence that these companies were positioning themselves for long-term growth. However, investors are becoming more selective. Strong revenue growth is no longer enough. They want to see whether AI investment can eventually translate into sustainable profits and free cash flow. Alphabet’s latest results demonstrate why this debate is becoming more important. Sh

Intel’s Outlook Craters: Is the PC Market Slump Getting Worse, and Who Will Recover First?

$Intel(INTC)$  latest earnings report highlights an interesting divide in the technology sector. While demand for AI infrastructure and data-centre processors remains strong, the traditional PC business is showing signs of weakness. This raises an important question for investors: is the PC market experiencing a temporary slowdown, or are we entering a longer period of weaker demand? Intel shares fell 3.62% on Thursday before plunging approximately 23% after hours following its disappointing fourth-quarter outlook. What makes the reaction particularly interesting is that the company actually delivered some encouraging results for the third quarter. Revenue reached approximately $16.5 billion, while adjusted EPS came in at $0.52, beating
