Options Market Statistics: Tesla Stock Soars with Musk Pay Package

$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$   's shares are set to be scrutinized when the company releases its first-quarter results on May 28. The company has forecasted gross margins of 71% for the current quarter, which is down from the previous quarter's 73.5%. Analysts surveyed by FactSet are expecting earnings per share of 88 cents on sales of $43.1 billion.

In the meantime, Scion Asset Management, led by "Big Short" Michael Burry, has purchased put options on Nvidia stock, as disclosed in the firm's 13-F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which was released on Thursday evening. A put option grants the holder the right to sell a stock at a specified price.

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$   's stock this week has surged by more than 16%, propelled by two key developments: the announcement of a potential new compensation package for Elon Musk and the appointment of a new board member. 

The news on Friday that Chipotle's president, Jack Hartung, is joining Tesla's board of directors has also contributed to the stock's rise. Hartung will become the ninth member of Tesla's board and is set to start his role on June 1. 

$UnitedHealth(UNH)$  's shares experienced an unusual increase on Friday, as investors responded favorably to a wave of insider purchases in the struggling stock. 

The stock had been battered throughout the week following the company's suspension of its 2025 outlook due to higher-than-expected medical expenses, the CEO's resignation for personal reasons, and a Wall Street Journal report that the company is facing a U.S. criminal investigation over potential Medicare fraud.

There was a noteworthy activity in $Shell (SHEL.US)$ , with $70 calls topping the highest volume to open interest ranking. The highest volume over open interest ratio reaches 82.4x with 11,283 contracts.
