$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ 🚨🤖⚡ TESLA: CHARGING TOWARD A $500 FRONTIER ~ OR BRACING FOR A WAVE 4 RECKONING? ⚡🤖🚨

As of 24May25, 🇳🇿NZST

Wall Street’s engines are revving once more. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives has slapped a Street-high $500 target on Tesla ($TSLA), proclaiming the company has entered a “massive stage of valuation creation” fuelled by its strides in AI and autonomy. He’s framing Tesla as the vanguard of what he calls the “golden age of autonomous growth.” It’s a bold vision, one that’s got me digging into the market’s undercurrents to see if the structure backs it up. I’ve been poring over the charts, sifting through economic crosswinds, and tracking the latest developments to piece together where Tesla’s headed next. Here’s what I’ve found.

📊 Technical Setup: High-Tension Wave 4 Structure

Tesla closed at $337.43 on 23May25, down 1.06% on the day, and appears to be tracing a classic wave 4 correction. On the daily timeframe, the 5-day SMA has just edged above the 20-day, which signals short-term strength. But on the weekly chart, the stock hovers just above the 30-week SMA at $332.45 and remains constrained below the December 2024 high at $488.54. The 5-week and 20-week SMAs at $311.53 and $314.82 respectively are rising in parallel, keeping the long-term trend intact.

The RSI readings are split. Weekly RSI(6) at 66.37 signals bullish strength, while daily RSI(6) at 38.64 suggests a breather, consistent with the wave 4 dip. On the MACD, the weekly histogram has just flipped green, and the MACD line is now crossing above the signal line. This setup has previously preceded major upside in Tesla.

From a structural view, wave 4 support zones cluster at $323.57 (100% retracement), $322.82 (.382 Fib), and $312.89 (.5 Fib). If these levels hold, wave 5 could stretch toward $404.52 (0.618 extension), with further upside at $427.53. Resistance is layered at $355, $380, $404.52, and $427.53. That $355 level is key. A breakout could trigger a sharp momentum run.

📉 Short Interest: A Powder Keg Building Pressure

As of 22May25, short interest climbed to 30.82M shares, or 15.99% of float. Daily short volume is 10.15M across NASDAQ and NYSE, with a short ratio of 10.46. Despite Tesla’s bounce, shorts remain firm. This persistence creates a high-risk scenario. If $TSLA breaks $355 with volume, it could ignite a gamma squeeze as shorts race to cover and options flow accelerates.

🌍 Macro & Political Context: Deregulation Tailwinds Incoming?

Wedbush’s valuation outlook hinges on an increasingly likely Trump second term, where FSD regulation may ease. This could clear the runway for Full Self-Driving monetisation, a point Ives argues would dramatically boost margins and transform Tesla into a tech platform with recurring software revenue.

And there’s now a fresh signal from Elon Musk himself. In a recent interview, Musk said he’s “shifting focus from politics to boost GDP with Tesla humanoid robots.” That’s not just a product statement, it’s a signal of where Tesla’s macroeconomic narrative is heading. It reinforces the view that Optimus is no longer experimental. It’s economic infrastructure in the making.

But macro risks remain. Sticky inflation could keep interest rates elevated, pressuring valuations. EV demand in China is cooling, and Europe faces economic headwinds. Even so, Tesla’s AI, FSD, and software stack tether it more to the tech cycle than traditional autos.

💡 Underrated Catalyst: Tokenised Shares and DeFi Liquidity

Kraken’s recent listing of tokenised Tesla shares opens the gates to DeFi-native capital. For the first time, crypto investors can gain fractional Tesla exposure without touching brokerages. This adds an entirely new layer of potential liquidity, one Wall Street isn’t pricing in yet.

⚡ Fundamental Strength: Energy Segment Flexes Quiet Power

While the focus is on robotaxis and AI, Tesla’s energy business is quietly scaling. Megapack deployments rose 30% YoY in Q1, and 2024 revenue hit $1.8B. With grid mandates expanding in California and the EU, this segment could double by 2026. If Q2 earnings in July show a revenue surprise from energy, the market may need to re-rate Tesla as more than just an EV company.

🌏 Global Growth: Eyes on India 🇮🇳

Factory negotiations in India are advancing. With tariffs easing and domestic demand swelling, Tesla could unlock a billion-consumer market by 2027. This would be one of the last remaining mega-markets left untapped and could rival China in scale over the next decade.

🔭 Forward Watchlist: What I’m Tracking Closely

Support: $322.82–$312.89. This is the wave 4 floor. If it breaks, the bull thesis delays.

Resistance: $355 → $380 → $404.52 → $427.53. Breakout zones with increasing momentum.

Catalysts: Trump policy headlines on AV deregulation, July Q2 earnings (energy or FSD attach rates), tokenisation adoption metrics, institutional re-entry, and options flow above $355.

🧠 Final Word: Platform Transformation Underway

Tesla is undergoing a structural metamorphosis. From carmaker to autonomous operating system. From unit volumes to software monetisation. From EV hype to platform economics. The market is beginning to grasp it. The price is still catching up.

If this wave 4 pullback holds and macro catalysts align, the next leg toward $404.52 could be swift, with $500 not far behind. But I’m watching $322.82–$312.89 like a hawk. If that base gives way, the coil resets. Until then, the spring is tightly wound, and Tesla’s next breakout may define the rest of 2025.

But if Optimus and FSD scale as Musk intends, the chips might end up in the winner’s stack.

That’s an intriguing take. I see where you’re coming from. If Tesla’s platform strategy misfires, someone will definitely be holding the bag.

I’m glad you thought so. I really tried to balance the technical structure with the broader AI thesis that’s reshaping how Tesla is valued.
