I think Malaysia sounds good. Rental can be cheap and there is much to explore to spend time. There is much food variety comparable to Singapore or more at affordable prices. Language is not a barrier which means I do not have to learn a new language to get by. It is also not susceptible to many natural disasters which gives peace of mind and stability. With the all year round summer like Singapore, there is also no need to prepare clothes for the 4 seasons. Most importantly, it is close to Singapore for me to return home if there are urgent matters to settle, visit family and seek healthcare if I need to in the future. Having seen the healthcare overseas, I think Singapore is still the best and my 3Ms will make it affordable with insurance cover. Singapore is great for retirement if one has the means. Alternatively, if one can rent their place out and use the money to somewhere low cost, it can be seen as a slow travel and might even be able to make money!
