I've been consistently dollar-cost averaging into Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares, and this recent correction hasn't changed that strategy—in fact, it reinforces it. The semiconductor sector sits at the core of the modern digital economy, powering everything from AI to cloud computing, and I see volatility as part of the journey rather than a reason to step aside. Instead of trying to time the bottom, I prefer to build exposure gradually when sentiment is weak and fear is elevated.
This round of selling feels more macro-driven than fundamentally broken. Concerns around higher-for-longer interest rates, tighter liquidity, and geopolitical noise have pressured growth stocks broadly, including semiconductors. But when I zoom out, the long-term demand drivers remain intact. Companies tied to AI infrastructure, data centers, and advanced chips—like NVIDIA—are still seeing structural tailwinds that are unlikely to reverse just because the market is going through a risk-off phase.
That's exactly why DCA makes sense for a leveraged ETF like SOXL. Timing entries perfectly in a 3x leveraged product is extremely difficult, but spreading entries across multiple price levels helps smooth out volatility and reduces the risk of going all-in at the wrong time. I treat each pullback as an opportunity to accumulate at a better average cost, knowing that the rebound—when it comes—can be sharp and amplified.
Of course, I'm fully aware that leverage cuts both ways. SOXL is not a "buy and forget" position—it requires discipline, position sizing, and a clear understanding of risk. That's why I keep my allocations measured and stick to a structured plan rather than reacting emotionally to market swings. The goal isn't to chase short-term gains, but to position ahead of the next upcycle in semiconductors.
At the end of the day, this correction is exactly the kind of environment where my strategy is tested. Instead of pulling back, I lean into the volatility with a plan I trust. As long as the long-term thesis for semiconductors remains intact, I'm comfortable continuing to DCA into SOXL—because historically, the best opportunities tend to come when the market feels the most uncertain.
As a retail investor, I focus mainly on the US and Singapore markets, combining a mix of technical trading and long-term investing strategies. I enjoy analyzing charts, spotting patterns, and making calculated moves based on both market sentiment and fundamentals.
