Beware of the numbers.

So the pic below, (even though this year has been a tuff ride for most, including me) well it's still says I'm doing better than 98% of all investors on the tiger platform. I'm not trying to Bragg here, cause I think it will illumin a point that to me is way more important.

Over time I've learned that numbers don't necessarily reflect the reality of a stock you own or you are considering buying. My point is, you must dive way deeper. So to illustrate this let me dive deeper into if me being in the top 2% of the most successful investors in tiger is actually that impressive.

So tiger has over 10 million users worldwide. Of that about 2.4 to 2.7 million users are "active". Let's call it 2.5 million just so I don't need a calculator. If that 98% more successful is based on total users, then I'm one of 200,000 users that do better than the 10 million, 2 thirds of who have an account but don't trade. Alternatively I'm one of 50,000 users that do significantly better than the other 2.45 million active users.

So while 98% better than everyone else sounds impressive, it's not really. And if I break it down further, well I joined tiger in march 2024, and that first nine months was insane, up over 1000%, second slide confirms that. My strategy when I joined tiger in 2025 was clear. I found a unicorn called $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$  I moved all of my money (pretty much) from my old brokerage to tiger. Opened a margin account here, and also learned how to trade leap calls, and a few puts too.

The strategy worked, that's pretty obvious. Year two in tiger, it was still amazing. See the third slide. 85% up in 2025. My trading with margins was still firing, but I made a few bad decisions in retrospect Buying leap calls that didnt pay Off. Some did, hence the 85% return, but my return was definitely reduced by some bad choices. but in 2024 I started with about $10k of my money, but by the end of 2025 I'd pulled out over double that. And it was not luck. I go deep on numbers, company leadership, strategy and lots more. It pays off, but shit happens, and sometimes I'm wrong.

So, 2026. well I have not brought a single option this year, volatility is insane and calls have been just insanely expensive. The math for me risk v reward is not there. at present, like at close on Friday I'm like 0% up in tiger For the year. It's been an interesting year so far. The rules that held in 2024 and 2025 no longer apply. But, a very important but. As investors I believe we need multiple strategies, my retirement account for eg is up nicely. My old brokerage account, where I cannot leverage, use margin or trade options is up Too. The tortoises have gained slow and steady. My hare, aka tiger, is in a rabbit hole. But there is no value in going down the poor me rabbit hole. Harden up, identify where you when wrong, adjust and move forward. so much I've learned this year, and it's getting actions beginning when the market opens

That's it, may your trades be forever in your favor

An analyst from one of the top companies was recommending a buy. The interviewer asked… so what do they do? His face went blank… the question was repeated, and finally he responded with “sorry you are breaking up”

Yes, I enjoy tiger because I likewise enjoy honest and informed discussion. Sadly it’s the exception not the rule in other platforms. Was watching an interesting commentary on you tube earlier today that pretty much sums up the whole situation.

I am also in the top 98 percent. However, i feel i cheated.. I was given 3 rocket lab shares for free when joining tiger @ around 3 dollars each at the time. I ignored my account for years, but until a month ago, i sold them for over 100 each. thanks tiger, I am now a customer.
