Wednesday Afternoon Market Recap
- The S&P 500 gained 23.68 points, or 0.6%, to 4027.26. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 95.96 points, or 0.3%, to 34194.06. The Nasdaq Composite jumped 110.91 points, or 1%, to 11285.32.
- The minutes released Wednesday said that โa substantial majority of participants judged that a slowing in the pace of increase would soon be appropriate.โThe stock indexes came off their lows of the session after the release of the minutes. In the bond market, the yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury note declined to 3.708%, from 3.757% Tuesday. Yields rise when bond prices fall.
- Wednesday morning data from the Labor Department showed jobless claims increased from the previous week but stayed relatively low. Consumer sentiment fell from the month prior, but came in higher than economists expected, according to the University of Michiganโs November consumer survey released Wednesday.
- Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil prices, fell 3.3% to $85.41 a barrel.

- Among individual companies, Deere & Co. was among the top gainers in the S&P 500, rising $20.96, or 5%, to $437.52 a share. The farm-equipment company reported an increase in sales as supply constraints eased and shipments rose.
- Manchester United shares jumped $3.86, or 26%, to $18.80 after its owners said Tuesday they were exploring a sale.
- U.S.-listed shares of Credit Suisse fell about 26 cents, or 6.4%, to $3.83 each. The Swiss bank warned it was headed for a roughly $1.6 billion loss in the fourth quarter after customers pulled their investments and deposits over concerns about the bankโs financial health.
- Nordstromโs shares slid 96 cents, or 4.2%, to $21.69 after the company reported a fall in quarterly net sales and said it is working to clear out its excess inventory.

The US market has been sold down heavily. With FED showing signs that it will increase interest rate at a slower rate, it is time to add stocks into our portfolio such as $Microsoft(MSFT)$ , $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ , $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ . These companies are strong in fundamentals and have diversified their businesses but their stock prices are currently undervalued. It is Black Friday sale and timeto scoop up these stocks.
