🐶🛍️ Options Puppy Day at MBS: Shopping, Learning & Looking at Luxury Stocks

🐶💰 Today I had an Options Puppy kind of day at Marina Bay Sands — but instead of sitting in front of my screen all day, I went shopping while learning about companies that own some of the world’s biggest luxury brands. I think this is one of the most interesting ways to learn about investing: sometimes I can understand a company better by actually seeing its stores, customers and products in the real world. 🏙️✨ Walking around MBS, I could see luxury brands such as Gucci, Hermès and other high-end retailers. It reminded me that behind every luxury shop is a real business with revenue, margins, customers, inventory and shareholders. When I see people browsing, buying and enjoying these brands, I can connect what I see in the shopping mall to what I read in company earnings reports.

TSLA: Stock View + FCN Structure 1. Stock View TSLA is trading around the $340 area, still inside a large multi-year triangle. The positive is that price recently tested the rising support around $295–310 and bounced, suggesting buyers are still defending the long-term uptrend. However, TSLA has not yet broken the descending resistance from its ~$499 high. Key levels: * 🟢 $295–310: Major support / attractive risk-reward * 🟡 $330–350: Current accumulation zone * 🟠 $380–400: First major resistance * 🔥 $410–430: Breakout confirmation * 🚀 $499: Previous high The DMI remains cautious: +DI: 17.0 | −DI: 34.2 | ADX: 24.9 With −DI still above +DI, selling momentum remains stronger on the weekly chart. My call: Cautiously bullish. Accumulate around current levels, add closer to $300 if support holds

Why July’s Retail-Sales Decline Is a Warning About Mix

~ Not Yet a Consumer Collapse. US retail sales fell for the first time in nine months in July, raising concerns that high fuel costs and exhausted tax refunds are pressuring household budgets. The details, however, show a sharp shift in timing and categories rather than a uniform retreat across consumer spending. The Census Bureau released the July estimate at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on August 14. Retail and food-services sales were $763.6 billion, down 0.6% from June but still 5.0% above July 2025. Excluding motor vehicles and gasoline, sales declined a smaller 0.2%. These figures are seasonally adjusted but not adjusted for inflation. The Census Bureau’s August 14 retail-sales report provides the official data and confidence intervals. The largest distortion was online shopping. Nonstore-

Why Reddit’s S&P 500 Promotion Is a Liquidity Catalyst, Not a Fundamental Upgrade

$Reddit(RDDT)$’s admission to the S&P 500 creates an unusually large, near-term source of demand for its shares. It does not, by itself, change the company’s advertising economics, user growth or competitive position. Distinguishing those two effects is essential after Friday’s double-digit rally. S&P Dow Jones Indices announced after the August 13 close that Reddit will replace AvalonBay Communities in the benchmark before trading begins on August 18. J.P. S&P’s official index announcement confirms the timing, while Reuters’ August 14 report provides the passive-fund estima

Many investors assume a new high means the market is expensive and due for a fall. It’s the opposite. Markets hit new highs because they’re bullish, and a new high can be broken many times in a single year. A new high isn’t a ceiling. It’s proof the market has the energy to keep breaking through. You can see the track record of S&P 500 making numerous new highs in the past years. Look at new highs versus new lows on the NYSE (not the S&P 500). We’re seeing more highs than lows, and that’s strength, not weakness. In a bear market, new lows outnumber new highs. And if valuations were truly overstretched, we’d see new highs spike far above new lows, the way they did in February, just before the Iran War AI trades corrected heavily over the last two months, and that flushed out a lot o
