The increase in GST, petrol taxes, COE, water taxes ( we r charged 3x) electricity and the list goes on.... The cost of living is high and still increase taxes further putting a strain on the households of common citizens I think the Gov could do better by moderating the ever increasing cost of living than to just give $300 with restrictions on using it... Well, than again it is better than nothing... Haha 😅 😅 😅

It’s a great way to show that the government care for the community and give subsidies for the people of sg. My giving CDC vouchers will only add to inflation. Across the whole island of Singapore, from small convenience store to big supermarkets, all of them increased the price for all items. Who don't want to earn the Gov money? Same goes to GST.. When Gov up 1% to 8% food stalls up their food by $0.5 to $1.. Our Gov again increased GST again by 1% to 9%, food stalls again increased by 0.5 to 1%. Have anyone seen prices drop after they increased??😁😁

CDCvoucher nodoubt is a good way to ease the financial burden on citizens while promoting economic growth. It is a win-win solution. Besides that, the other government's payout  (CPL, Majulah package, etc.) also benefits different ranges of citizens. I think the Singapore Government has done a great job! [Victory]

The CDC vouchers, while good efforts from the government, are too immaterial to curb the impact of inflation over a long period of time. Seem to be an initiative to please the public and improve public perception rather than a proper financial mean.

CDC voucher is an excellent way to help citizen bear the brunt of higher costs on basic and essential goods and services. It's better than outright cash, which may be spent on lottery or toto or outside the country. Increasing domestic consumption promote a healthy economy. Subsidies or rebates on utilities and transport serve its objective well.  Top up medisave is indeed a v wise strategy in helping young n old cope with rising medical and hospital expenses and premium. Holistic care is excellent approach. Citizens can help themselves to cut down by looking for cheaper alternatives n spending on needs and not wants. My personal opinion only.

I would rather government gives cash than CDC Vouchers. There are black market where people sold their $300 CDC voucher at 10% discount for cash. These are the people that are in need of money and not vouchers. They might need it for their medical bills or transportation or things that CDC vouchers cannot do for them. These are the people that government should take good care of them and understand their needs. Or try to understand what matter more to them and not vouchers. I dislike that supermarket vouchers are in denomination of $10. Why can’t they give it in $5 where it is easier for purchase? Maybe that’s why older folks sold theirs in black market. I don’t think it is an effective way to combat inflation. I will never be able to enjoy the incentives provided by NTUC eg spending $60

They are stimulatory measures. They basically ‘force’ Singaporeans to spend instead of cash which may be just sitting in the bank accounts. I personally prefer cash but vouchers would be better for the economy. Spending at the hawker centres using the CDC vouchers instead of eating at more expensive options like restaurants would be helpful to cut cost. Minimising waste like not wasting water, electricity and food would be helpful too. Very important to spend within one’s own means.

What the government should have done is to stop increasing GST, give out monthly payouts based on type of flats and income. Without the rise of GST, there won't be a domino effects on all the basic necessities increased in price.
