Jobs, Jobs & less Jobs kill US Market ?
US’s GDP for Q1 2025 (Prelim). In my Wed, 30 Apr 2025 post, I have shared Wall Street’s forecast on US’s Q1 2025 GDP (prelim). (click here ! for the estimates) When actual report was released, reading was far weaker than the 0.8% shared. (see below) US Q1 2025 - GDP prelim According to the advance estimate released by US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), real gross domestic product (GDP) for Q1 2025 (January, February, & March), came in at -0.3% annual rate. Just for the record, real GDP was 2.4% in Q4 2024, that’s a -2.7% fall. Factors dragged down GDP. Just as I had shared in my Wednesday post, the decrease in real GDP was ‘caused’ by :

If I had to choose between dining with Warren Buffett or Donald Trump, I’d go with Buffett. While Trump’s dinner promises more flash—like the VIP reception and “Golden Palace” tour—I value substance over show. Buffett’s wisdom and long-term investment thinking offer far more meaningful takeaways, even without discussing his next big move. Trump’s event might appeal to those chasing exclusivity or crypto hype, but the disclaimer that he “may be unable to attend” makes it feel more like a marketing ploy. Replacing a missed dinner with an NFT doesn’t exactly build trust or credibility. Buffett has earned respect through decades of consistency and sound judgment. $TSLA 20250509 250.0 PUT$ TSLA went on a roller coaster today due to the misinformation news of Elon being voted out as CEO. Currently TSLA coming back to an important level at $285. TSLA needs to hold $285 for more upwards movement. Entered my cash secured put position when TSLA retrace back to $284-$285 level earlier. Entered slightly too early but its okay, will see how it plays out. Resistance level to watch out for is $285 (hopefully it will be able to break above and hold this price level), else $286.99 (daily 200SMA), else $291.5. Will exit my position if it hits my price target.

Buy or Sell. That's the question
When do you buy? When do you sell? Why buy and why sell? It might sound silly 🤔 but they are the fundamentally most important questions before we even decide to enter a trade. How often have we entered a trade only to regret (especially when it goes straight down)? How often have we sold only for the counters of interest to shoot right up? Finally, how often do we enter a trade we have no idea about, just because somebody else did that? These questions are essential at all times. Reflections Apr 2025: This month is definitely a roller coaster ride. From around $400k portfolio, it went down to $190k. All my years of profit wiped out in that few days. A strong and stable democracy country should have sufficient opposition numbers in parliament to have check and balance in place. It is essential as the government cannot be checking on itself entirely for implementing new policies or debating national issues, etc. It is similar to having a independent audit to ensure that right prudence and responsibilities, etc. are in placed with interest of the majority citizens in priority.
