S&P 500 Record Highs: Reason for SPY 0DTE Options

With $S&P 500(.SPX)$ hitting fresh ALL TIME HIGH, staying exposed overnight can magnify emotional worry and gap risk. Day trading options allows traders to participate in strong intraday momentum while keeping overnight downside risk strictly capped.[Cool] WHY I DAY TRADE OPTIONS ( $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ ,0DTE) Holding equity positions overnight often leaves investors vulnerable to market-moving pre-market headlines. Overnight Peace of Mind: Holding swing positions can cause worry and fear to expand as headlines break overnight[Drowsy]. Closing intraday setups means going to bed flat with zero overnight risk. 🧠 Smart Money Can’t Agree on AI. That Might Be the Biggest 13F Signal

Everyone opens the latest 13F filings looking for the same thing: What did smart money buy? I think that misses the more interesting question. What if smart money itself cannot agree? 🤔 The latest Q2 2026 filings show exactly that. Across more than 6,000 institutional filings reviewed by Reuters, there was surprisingly little agreement about where the next big returns in technology will come from. Nearly 44% of institutions reduced exposure to the Magnificent Seven, while about 42% increased or initiated positions. That is almost a coin flip. For me, that might be more useful than any individual billionaire’s purchase. 🧠 Signal #1: The AI trade is splitting into different camps AI is no longer one trade. A year or two ago, the strategy could almost be simplified to: AI spending rises ➡️ ch

33,546 Shares Of A Stock That Just Missed Earnings. Here's W

Mathematical Money | August 15, 2026 Three weeks since my last post. Not because nothing happened — quite a lot did — but because I wanted the numbers straight before writing about them rather than after. So let's start where it hurts. MARA reported Q2 on August 6. Revenue came in at $174.9 million against the $209.4 million the street was looking for, and sitting inside the net loss was a $343 million fair-value hit on their digital assets. Bitcoin isn't helping either, around $62,800 as I write this and roughly $55,500 below where it was a year ago. MARA closed the week at $9.19, a lot nearer its 52-week low of $6.66 than the $23.45 high. If you hold this one you already know all that. You've been watching it. And I know the feeling of opening the app and deciding today's not the day. I'

SNDK $1,641. MU $971. The Memory Trade Just Validated Everything Bears Said Was Impossible.

Three weeks ago SNDK was at $1,000. MU was at $705. The narrative was peak cycle, guidance miss, China competition, and NAND euphoria fading. Today SNDK closed at $1,641 after gaining 7.39% on the day. MU closed at $971 after gaining 2.30%. MULL is at $22.62, up 4.67%. The SanDisk Investor Day just delivered the most detailed bull case the memory sector has ever produced in a single presentation. Here is what changed and where this goes next. What the Investor Day Actually Said This was not a cheerleading session. CFO Luis Visoso put specific numbers on the table with full accountability: - Flash market: $300B in 2026, $500B in 2027. Not an analyst estimate. The CFO of the world's largest pure-play NAND company saying this on record. - Supply tight into 2028. Demand continues to outpace Sa

Why Drone Tariffs Help AeroVironment Only If Domestic Capacity Can Scale

New US tariffs substantially raise the price of imported drones and components, giving domestic manufacturers a protective barrier. $AeroVironment(AVAV)$ is an obvious potential beneficiary, but the policy will matter only if the company can convert a more favourable competitive environment into profitable production and funded orders. President Donald Trump signed the drone proclamation on August 13. It imposes a 100% tariff on certain drones weighing more than 25 kilograms or carrying sensitive capabilities such as thermal imaging, a 25% tariff on smaller drones and specified parts, and lower country-specific rates for qualifying allies. The sensitive-product duties take effect 21 days after signing; some other component duties begin after 180 d

Why July’s Retail-Sales Decline Is a Warning About Mix

~ Not Yet a Consumer Collapse. US retail sales fell for the first time in nine months in July, raising concerns that high fuel costs and exhausted tax refunds are pressuring household budgets. The details, however, show a sharp shift in timing and categories rather than a uniform retreat across consumer spending. The Census Bureau released the July estimate at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on August 14. Retail and food-services sales were $763.6 billion, down 0.6% from June but still 5.0% above July 2025. Excluding motor vehicles and gasoline, sales declined a smaller 0.2%. These figures are seasonally adjusted but not adjusted for inflation. The Census Bureau’s August 14 retail-sales report provides the official data and confidence intervals. The largest distortion was online shopping. Nonstore-

Why Home Depot’s Pro Strategy Must Outrun a Frozen Housing Market

$Home Depot(HD)$ reports fiscal second-quarter results on August 18. The central question is whether its push into complex professional projects can offset weak housing turnover and cautious spending on major renovations. The first quarter, ended May 3 and reported May 19, established a restrained baseline. Sales increased 4.8% to $41.8 billion, helped by acquisitions, but comparable sales rose only 0.6% and US comparable sales increased 0.4%. Comparable customer transactions declined 1.3%, while the average ticket rose 2.2%. Adjusted earnings fell to $3.43 per share from $3.56. Home Depot retained guidance for fiscal-year comparable sales between flat and 2% growth and adjusted EPS between flat and 4% growth. Home Depot’s first-quarter release prov

Why Lantheus’s New Alzheimer’s Approval Is More Valuable to Curium Than Today’s Stock Price Suggests

$Lantheus(LNTH)$ received US approval for a new Alzheimer’s imaging agent on August 14, but its shares barely moved because the company is already subject to a cash acquisition agreement. The more useful analysis therefore concerns merger economics: whether TAUKLARIFY improves the chance of receiving contingent payments and strengthens the strategic case for Curium’s proposed purchase. The FDA approved TAUKLARIFY, also known as florquinitau F 18 or MK-6240, for PET brain imaging in cognitively impaired adults being evaluated for Alzheimer’s disease. The agent identifies tau neurofibrillary-tangle pathology and complements amyloid imaging, although a positive scan does not by itself confirm Alzheimer’s and performance may be weaker at earlier patho

Why a Wendy’s Buyout Would Not Make Its Traffic Problem Disappear

$Wendy's(WEN)$’s shares rose sharply on August 12 after Reuters reported that Nelson Peltz’s Trian Fund Management was assembling a consortium for a possible take-private offer. A transaction could give management room to restructure away from quarterly market pressure, but the underlying business deterioration explains why financing terms and franchisee participation will matter as much as the headline price. Wendy’s reported its second quarter on August 7 for the period ended June 28. Global systemwide sales fell 6.5%, including an 8.2% US decline. US same-restaurant sales dropped 7%, company-operated restaurant margin contracted 240 basis points to 13.8%, and adjusted EBITDA fell 15.4% to $124.1 million. Management withdrew its 2026 outlook and

Why Berkshire’s Enlarged Alphabet Stake Signals a New Phase of Capital Deployment

$Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.A)$’s latest portfolio filing shows a notable change in capital allocation: after years of accumulating cash and reducing equity exposure, the conglomerate made $Alphabet(GOOG)$ one of its three largest stock investments and became a net buyer of equities. $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$’s Form 13F was filed with the SEC after the August 14 close and reports holdings as of June 30—not Berkshire’s current positions. The filing showed nearly 106 million $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ shares, up 83% from 57.8 million at March 31 and worth approximately $37.8 billion at quarter-end. Berkshire’s August 14 Form 13F i

Why Rocket Lab’s Iridium Ambition Comes With Nearly $2 Billion of Dilution Capacity

$Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ cleared an important US antitrust milestone for its proposed $8 billion acquisition of Iridium Communications, but it simultaneously highlighted the cost of becoming a vertically integrated space company. An at-the-market programme permits almost $1.95 billion of additional equity issuance, potentially transferring part of the acquisition burden to existing shareholders. Rocket Lab announced on August 13 that the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period had expired at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 12. It also filed a Form S-4 and applications to transfer Iridium’s Federal Communications Commission licences. Rocket Lab’s official transaction update documents those milestones. The acquisition, announced June 29, would give I

The S&P 500 just closed at another all-time high. So should we chase the rally or wait for a pullback?

I think both choices miss the more interesting trade. When an index hits a record, I do not automatically ask, “Is the market too expensive?” I ask: What has NOT returned to its high, even though its fundamental story has improved? Right now, two names stand out to me: Micron and SanDisk. That gap between price recovery and fundamental recovery is my Pick Level. 🧭 First, Why Is the S&P 500 at a Record? The Aug 13 record was not simply FOMO. July PPI was flat month on month versus the 0.2% rise economists expected, helping calm fears of another near-term Fed hike. Treasury yields eased and technology shares helped push the S&P 500 to a record 7,798.99. Meanwhile, the AI investment cycle remains alive. That combination matters: Cooling inflation → less rate pressure → lower discount-

Related Industrials Contributing to AI Development 2026

Watching businesses that contribute to other businesses has occasionally produced some good solid investments; an example of this was Sysco Corporation (SYY), food logistics company which operates internationally to supermarkets and food brokers. Other business areas required to develop and maintain artificial intelligence, AI, benefit from growth. Data centers, data center power, data center cooling (water), AI and semiconductors all grew this year and continue to have upside in the AI run. This table is an easy to own five ETF allocation of the contributing businesses to AI: The following list is additional segments and the individual stocks within those segments, these businesses benefit from AI development; the categories are AI core, data centers, power, water, semiconductors, cooling

Some thoughts on optical communications’ future outlook

The AI revolution has entered a new phase. The first wave was dominated by computing power — GPUs, accelerators, and HBM memory. However, as AI clusters scale to hundreds of thousands of GPUs, the next bottleneck is becoming clear: data movement. We believe optical communication is still in the early stages of a long-term growth cycle and will become one of the most important infrastructure layers supporting AI expansion.‌$Applied Optoelectronics Inc.(AAOI)$  ‌‌$Lumentum Holdings Inc.(LITE)$  ‌‌$Coherent(COHR)$

🚀⚛️ Beginner Guide: Oracle’s Quantum Computing Connection and QUBT Stock 🏢☁️ Why Oracle Is Becoming Interesting in Quantum Computing When beginners think about Oracle (ORCL), they usually think about databases, enterprise software and cloud computing. But Oracle is also becoming increasingly relevant to the growing quantum-computing ecosystem because its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) can provide the cloud platform through which customers access advanced computing technologies. The important idea is simple: quantum computers do not necessarily need to sit in every customer’s office. Instead, companies can access quantum computing through the cloud, just as businesses already rent computing power from cloud providers. This is where the announcement involving Quantum Computing Inc. (QUBT)

🐶🛍️ Options Puppy Day at MBS: Shopping, Learning & Looking at Luxury Stocks

🐶💰 Today I had an Options Puppy kind of day at Marina Bay Sands — but instead of sitting in front of my screen all day, I went shopping while learning about companies that own some of the world’s biggest luxury brands. I think this is one of the most interesting ways to learn about investing: sometimes I can understand a company better by actually seeing its stores, customers and products in the real world. 🏙️✨ Walking around MBS, I could see luxury brands such as Gucci, Hermès and other high-end retailers. It reminded me that behind every luxury shop is a real business with revenue, margins, customers, inventory and shareholders. When I see people browsing, buying and enjoying these brands, I can connect what I see in the shopping mall to what I read in company earnings reports.
