8/25 Pre-Market Thoughts: The Night Before Earnings

One-sentence theme: NVIDIA reports earnings after the close tonight, with massive block trades betting on a surge to 230. Anthropic's "$30 trillion pie-in-the-sky" narrative continues to hype the AI atmosphere. I. Sentiment Focus: The Night Before NVIDIA Earnings Tonight (8/26) after the close is the make-or-break event for the entire market this week. Options block trades have already taken a clear side (see below). Outlook: GEX shows 200 is support / a Triple Witching magnet, while 230 is a super Call wall. IV is elevated. There is a high probability of a double beat, but "already fully priced in + circular financing concerns + historical post-earnings pullbacks" → the risk of failing to rally or even pulling back is higher. Strategic tone: Post-earnings IV crush + September 18 Triple Wi

NVIDIA Earnings Tonight: Will AI Growth Justify the Market's Sky-High Expectations?

Introduction Tonight, after the U.S. market closes on 26 August 2026, $NVIDIA(NVDA)$  will release its Fiscal Q2 2027 earnings results. This is not just another earnings announcement. In my view, NVIDIA has become the single most important company in the artificial intelligence ecosystem, and its results could influence not only AI-related stocks but also the broader technology sector and overall market sentiment. NVIDIA is scheduled to report after market close and host its earnings call shortly afterward. Earnings release As an investor, I am less interested in whether NVIDIA beats earnings estimates by a few cents and more focused on whether AI demand remains strong enough to justify the enormous infrastructu

Jonathan Lo: Beyond the AI Hype: Positioning for Q3 Volatility & Singapore Stability

A huge thank you to Jonathan Lo and the Tiger Brokers (Singapore) $Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ team for bringing their Q3 Markets Commentary to our office last week! Jonathan walked us through the macro landscape dominating this quarter—oil-driven rate volatility, persistent inflation, geopolitical risks, and the evolving AI cycle driving global earnings resilience. With nearly 20 years of practical trading and multi-asset experience, his insights on macro-directed long-short strategies were incredibly timely. Key Messages: Navigating Q3 Volatility: How Interest Rates, Oil, and Geopolitics Shape Your Portfolio
Jonathan Lo: Beyond the AI Hype: Positioning for Q3 Volatility & Singapore Stability
TOPJerry Lam: I think the most noteworthy thing about this sharing is that AI transactions are switching from "theme-driven" to "cash flow and execution-driven". In the past two years, the market was willing to pay for high Capex and high growth stories, but now if AI investment continues to rise and free cash flow can't keep up, the valuation will be re-examined. On the contrary, companies with real orders, profits and cash flow are easier to obtain funds in fluctuations. Macroscopically, I also agree with the oil price-inflation-interest rate transmission chain. As long as oil prices rise again and inflation stickiness remains, it will be difficult for long-term interest rates to really ease down, which remains a pressure on high-valuation technology stocks. Therefore, I will continue to keep the core warehouse of AI now, but I will not only bet on technology, but will pay due attention to the direction of more stable cash flow such as finance, medical care and energy infrastructure. In terms of regional allocation, I pay more attention to advanced manufacturing, robots and medical care for the aged in China; Singapore is more suitable for companies with high Dividend, stable cash flow and infrastructure benefits. Bottom line: The most important thing in the third quarter is not to guess which index rose the most, but to see how money is shifting from "storytelling" to "who can really make money".

Copper’s Next Big Cycle: Why Investors Are Watching the Metal Behind AI Infrastructure

$Copper - main 2609(HGmain)$’s Next Big Cycle: Why Investors Are Watching the Metal Behind AI Infrastructure Copper is attracting renewed attention from investors as the global race for artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerates. Unlike many commodities that depend mainly on economic growth expectations, copper is gaining a new structural demand story. The expansion of AI data centers, electricity networks, renewable energy projects and electric vehicles is increasing the need for one of the world’s most important industrial metals. This has raised a bigger question for investors: Is copper entering a new long-term demand cycle, and which ETFs could benefit if the supply shortage continues? 🟡 Why: Copper Is Becoming a S
Copper’s Next Big Cycle: Why Investors Are Watching the Metal Behind AI Infrastructure
TOP苏36: Copper's next cycle may be less about traditional construction and more about powering the AI economy. Data centers, grid upgrades, renewables and electrification are creating structural demand, while new mine supply remains difficult to bring online. A recent study found power infrastructure accounts for most mineral demand from AI data centers, with copper making up the largest share. For investors, I see COPX as the more interesting long-term play because miners can benefit from rising copper prices through expanding margins. CPER offers purer commodity exposure, while COPP provides another mining-focused option. The key risk is valuation and China's demand. But if AI-driven electricity investment continues, copper could become one of the most important "picks and shovels" trades of the next decade. @WallStreet_Tiger [捂嘴]

🟡 Gold ETFs Keep Climbing: Is This Rally Built to Last?

Gold pushed to fresh record highs in 2026, and the ETFs that track it have been swept along for the ride. Gold hit roughly $5,600 an ounce in January before pulling back over 20% in its worst quarter since 2013 — then rebounding to challenge $4,500 by August. Major gold-backed funds have posted some of their strongest years on record despite the swings. The question now is: what's actually driving this, and can it keep going? 🔍 Why: Demand Is Converging From Every Angle Gold's rally isn't being driven by one type of buyer — it's structural, with several demand sources moving at once: Central bank reserve buying Record ETF inflows Record physical (bar and coin) demand in Asia Rising concern over sovereign debt and currency debasement That convergence — sovereign, institutional, and retail d
