$SATS(S58.SI)$ Buying the dip on SATS while other people panic sell. Conflict on the middle east still looms and it is affecting margins. But this is just temporary, if you want to hold the stock for a long time > 1yr. The business is strong. When i travel, my food is always catered by SATS. Average consensus target price is still S$5. Overall bull case in my opinion. Will just DCA if it drops more at a discount.  A profit of S$1 per share if it recovers, not bad at all. [Cool]

Utility Stocks Can Fall 23% in a Day

California’s Wildfire Bill Turns PCG and EIX Back Into High-Risk Assets One-line takeaway: Utility stocks may offer protection against the economic cycle, but they are not necessarily protected from wildfire liabilities, regulatory changes or the legal risks of a single state. The biggest individual stock moves in the U.S. market on Monday did not come from the technology sector, but from traditionally “defensive” stocks. PG&E $PG&E Corp(PCG)$ fell 20.1%; Edison International $Edison(EIX)$ dropped 23.1%; Sempra $Sempra(SRE)$ declined 3.1%. The trigger was a California wildfire bill. The final version did not in

[Live With Dr. Franklin Wu] Quantitative Analysis Framework & Trading Logic for AI + Semiconductor I

[Miser]Hi~ Tigers The past two weeks gave AI/semiconductor investors a case study in whipsaw. $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ delivered a blowout quarter that beat expectations across the board — and the stock still popped on the print — yet the move came against a backdrop where Fed Chair-designate Kevin Warsh used his Jackson Hole remarks to put inflation, not growth, back at the center of policy, and rate-hike odds for September jumped sharply overnight. At the same time, long-end Treasury yields pushed toward multi-year highs before a Treasury buyback operation — nicknamed the "Bessent Put" — triggered a technical bond rally. None of this cancels the AI buildout story. But it does mean the trade is no longer just "AI is strong, buy the chip sto

Why This Week’s Labor Data Could Break Regional Banks Out of Their Narrow Range

Regional-bank shares enter September between two opposing rate scenarios. Strong employment can protect credit quality but keep funding costs high; weak employment can encourage eventual rate relief while increasing loan losses. This week’s JOLTS and payroll releases may determine which interpretation dominates. The Bureau of Labor Statistics scheduled July job-openings data for September 1 and the August employment report for September 4. The official BLS calendar confirms the release dates. The previous employment report, released August 7 for July, showed nonfarm payrolls falling by 23,000 while unemployment held at 4.1%. The BLS July report provides the baseline. The bullish case for regional banks is a controlled slowdown. Moderate hiring and stable unemployment can reduce the probabi

$Adobe(ADBE)$ $Adobe(ADBE)$  coming back strong. What's going on?  I think Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE) is becoming a buy again, but I would not chase it aggressively at US$293. Buy, but preferably on weakness Adobe has had a remarkable rebound: it was around $190–205 earlier this year and is now around $293. That means some of the easy recovery has already happened. Axioma ROOF™ Score Highlights: Week of August 31, 2026

With the second-quarter earnings season drawing to a close, investors’ attention will swing back from corporate results to the macroeconomic and geopolitical front. That puts monetary policy, trade tensions, and the conflict with Iran back on the front page. Last week’s secondary sanctions on Iran and its economic supporters were an insult to Swiss cheese and another display of the US administration’s preferred foreign-policy doctrine: speak loudly, carry a small stick, and hope nobody notices. China noticed. Beijing threatened to retaliate if the secondary sanctions were applied to Chinese companies, especially its banks. The White House, for now, stopped short of targeting either. With China’s President due to visit the US on September 24, it seems even trade tensions have diaries. Senti

💾 SanDisk +3,000%: Why Memory Makers Are Buying Back Billions

👋 Hi, Tigers! $SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$ is up more than 3,000% over the past year. $Micron Technology(MU)$ has gained well over 200% YTD. Numbers like that are wild enough to make anyone wonder whether the market has gone too far. But the more interesting story isn't the stock charts — it's what these companies are doing with the cash they're generating. Record memory pricing has turned $Micron Technology(MU)$, $SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$ and $SK hynix(SKHY)$ into cash machines. And their very different capital-al
💾 SanDisk +3,000%: Why Memory Makers Are Buying Back Billions
TOP苏36: My view:the memory supercycle still has room to run, but the easy money is probably behind us.The key is separating DRAM from NAND. DRAM remains structurally tight because AI accelerators and HBM are consuming enormous wafer capacity, while new fabs take years to build and ramp up. NAND, however, faces a clearer risk of supply catching up with demand in 2027. That makes me more comfortable withMU and SK hynixthan pure NAND exposure. SK hynix's ₩40T buyback is a strong signal that management remains confident in future cash generation, but buybacks are not a guaranteed price floor. At ~85% gross margins, expectations are already extremely high. I would watchDRAM contract prices, HBM demand, hyperscaler capex and gross marginsrather than stock charts. If DRAM prices roll over while AI capex slows, the cycle could turn quickly. Until then, I remain bullish—but I would buy selectively on pullbacks rather than chase momentum. @TigerObserver [暗中观察]

Why Union Pacific’s Merger Spread Still Prices In Regulatory Trouble

The Surface Transportation Board has restarted its review of $Union Pacific(UNP)$’s proposed acquisition of $Norfolk Southern(NSC)$, but it has not endorsed the transaction. The difference between a complete application and an approvable merger explains why Norfolk Southern still trades well below the value implied by the deal terms. Union Pacific agreed on July 28, 2025, and announced on July 29 that it would acquire Norfolk Southern. Each Norfolk Southern share would receive one Union Pacific share plus $88.82 in cash. Union Pacific expects to issue approximately 225 million shares, fund the cash component with debt and balance-sheet cash, and begin with debt near 3.3 times EBITDA. Management estimates $2
Why Union Pacific’s Merger Spread Still Prices In Regulatory Trouble
TOPBlithePullan: That 13.6% spread makes sense, but UNP standalone earnings probably deserve more credit. If the deal slips, the floor is still more operating resilience than pure merger math.

Why Broadcom’s Next Earnings Must Prove That $16 Billion of AI Revenue Is Not the Peak

$Broadcom(AVGO)$ reports fiscal-third-quarter results after the September 2 close with a difficult expectations problem. Its preceding quarter produced extraordinary AI growth and cash flow, yet the stock remains far below its yearly high because investors are questioning customer concentration, custom-chip competition and how long hyperscaler spending can accelerate. Broadcom reported on June 3 for the quarter ended May 3. Revenue increased 48% to $22.19 billion, adjusted EBITDA reached $15.24 billion and free cash flow was $10.26 billion. AI semiconductor revenue rose 143% to $10.8 billion. Management guided the third quarter to approximately $29.4 billion of revenue and said AI semiconductor revenue should exceed $16 billion, up more than 200%.
Why Broadcom’s Next Earnings Must Prove That $16 Billion of AI Revenue Is Not the Peak
TOPBelindaHaywood: Being 23% under the yearly high already gives AVGO a bit of valuation cushion. I care more about free cash flow holding up than whether one AI quarter looks peak-ish
