More and more people are listening to podcasts, especially during their work commutes or while working. Podcasts have no barriers—just listening can help you pick up new knowledge.
Some say they listen to podcasts to bridge information gaps and explore the unknown. If you stick to video platforms with “recommended for you” algorithms, the scope of content you encounter might be more limited.

Podcasts are no longer just for listening—some can be watched as well. In fact, in the US, nearly one-third of regular podcast listeners go to YouTube first to watch their favorite shows.
A recent report from research firm Edison shows that YouTube has surpassed $Apple(AAPL)$ Podcasts and $Spotify Technology S.A.(SPOT)$ to become the most popular podcast platform in the US. Five years ago, Apple was the top platform.
Some commenters noted that $Alphabet(GOOG)$ merging Google Podcasts into YouTube because video podcasts won't replace audio podcasts, but from a scale perspective, video can accommodate audio.

While I still enjoy some podcasts occasionally, I find that videos offer a richer experience for me, as they capture my attention better and prevent things from getting monotonous. I also find platforms like YouTube to be more versatile for this kind of content, where I can easily switch between podcasts and other video formats depending on what I’m in the mood for.
