$Globalstar(GSAT)$ Thats my new stock to watch, why? Well it was at $2, based on the fact it had a contract with $Apple(AAPL)$ To supply apple s emergency texts if you were in a remote location with no cell coverage. Gsat has actually helped over 10,000 people in trouble to date. Unfortunately apple announced it would not longer use gsat exclusively and was also going with starlink for off grid space to cell emergency texts and gps coordinates. So it dropped 25% to $1.50.
Today it popped back Up to $1.70 pre market after announcing a deal with mda worth 1.1 billion, but then people realized it was gsat extending its contract with mda to buy satellites, so no upside for gsat. so its trading back near $1.50 at close today.
But interestingly everyone seems to have overlooked their announcement on jan 28 of record hardware sales in the UK. This is substantial. Oh and then there is the stock split, 1:15 and the move tomorrow to the naz. Lots of stuff going on so it has my attention. To be fair a reverse split usually doesn't bode well, but then sometimes it does.
Gsat has been around a long time now, its had a rocky past, almost going bankrupt. It has its own comms satellite constellation in space, all be it dated. but its building new advanced stuff, and launching on $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$.
Sorry if im a little vague here, im still putting my ducks in a row, competition is clearly intense. But the UK intel seems to support the concept that it does a great job and way cheaper than for eg... starlink.
Anyway thats why i am presenting gsat as a stock to watch. Seriously if its willing to pay out 1.1 billion for new satellites, well that peaks my interest. I definitely willing to spend more time looking at this one, we shall see.
Personal disclosure i own 100 shares, and currently have calls to buy another um, 1200 Ish shares. chump change $300 bucks. Im interested but not confident til i do more research.
May your tiger trades be ever in your favor
