OpenAI Acquisition and DOGE Operation: How Low Will Tesla Continue to Crash?
Recently, Elon Musk posted something resembling a will, stating:
"If something happens to me, the board will prioritize finding a successor who shares the same vision. Advancing civilization is the conclusion I’ve reached through both success and failure. The most important thing isn’t my legacy, but the experience of being a creator!"
This eerily reminds people of the assassination scene in The Days of the Jackal. Musk’s approach of applying private enterprise logic to public governance is bound to stir further turmoil and provoke strong reactions from vested interests.
Aside from DOGE concerns, Musk’s focus has been drifting far away from $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$.
Elon Musk has made a massive $97.4 billion offer to acquire OpenAI’s nonprofit entity, aiming to reshape the future of the AI giant. This bid far exceeds OpenAI’s internal valuation of $30 billion for its nonprofit segment.
Musk co-founded OpenAI with Sam Altman in 2015, originally envisioning a nonprofit AI lab free from corporate influence. However, after Musk’s departure in 2019, Altman formed a for-profit arm and brought in major investors like Microsoft, which Musk strongly opposed.
Looking back at his Twitter acquisition, could Tesla’s stock crash down like a waterfall again?
Tesla is currently trading below its 20-day moving average (MA 20) of $397, dropping to a key level of $350. If it breaks further, the next support zones could be $330 or even $300.
Despite this decline, Tesla’s forward P/E remains high at 120. Some argue Tesla isn’t just an EV company but the biggest AI beneficiary, yet Robotaxi and FSD are still not fully realized. As expectations for AI commercialization grow in 2025, Tesla’s short-term outlook remains under pressure.
Questions for tigers:
Would you stay away from Tesla for now?
Would you buy the dip at $300 or near MA 200 at $270?
What do you think Tesla is truly worth?
Do you support Musk’s bid to acquire OpenAI’s nonprofit arm?

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Tesla's current situation is definitely tricky. While I still believe in the long-term potential of Tesla as both an EV and AI-driven company, the near-term risks are hard to ignore. The stock breaking below $350 is concerning, and if it dips to $300 or even lower, it could present a solid buying opportunity, but only if I see strong support and market sentiment stabilizing.
That said, Tesla's valuation is still stretched with a forward P/E of 120, which means a further correction wouldn't be surprising. Without concrete progress on Robotaxi or FSD, the AI narrative alone isn't enough to justify the current multiples. If I buy the dip, it would be cautiously and in stages.
As for Musk's $97.4 billion bid for OpenAI's nonprofit arm, it's a bold move that could shake up the AI landscape. While I respect Musk's vision, I'm skeptical about whether this acquisition would truly serve OpenAI's original mission. Given the tension between Musk, Altman, and Microsoft $Microsoft(MSFT)$ , this could turn into a prolonged battle rather than an immediate game-changer.
