How the Pump and Dump Scam Operation Works

The "Stock Master" Trap:

Fraudsters pose as financial experts ("Professor Chan" or "Mali Chan") alongside an assistant or co-host ("Ella") on messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. They build trust by sharing market analysis and seemingly profitable stock recommendations.

The Pump and Dump:

Group members are instructed to buy shares of a specific, low-volume stock—in this case, CMBC Capital—at an exact price range (reported around $4.45 to $4.92).

The Crash & Finger-Pointing:

Once retail investors artificially inflate the stock price, the operators dump their millions of shares, causing the price to crash. When "students" demand answers for their sudden losses, the scammers shift blame to "malicious short sellers" or "spies" in the chat group to buy time before disappearing entirely.

Thin float plus weak disclosure is exactly why names like this get targeted. Scam is ugly, but the governance smell was already there

CMBC Capital (01141) — Next Quarter Earnings Outlook

Conclusion: There is no sell-side consensus forecast for CMBC Capital's next-quarter earnings — the company is not covered by analysts, and no earnings estimate or target price data exists in the system. However, the company is due to release its 2026 interim results (H1 2026) today, 2026-08-31 , and the fundamental trend points to continued profitability, though with notable quality caveats around receivables and cash flow.

    Key information

    Earnings calendar

The board meeting to approve the unaudited interim results for the six months ended 2026-06-30 is scheduled for 2026-08-31 (today)

The most recent reported period is FY2025 (annual report), released 2026-03-30.

No analyst coverage / no forecast

The earnings estimate database returned no forecast figures for revenue, EPS or EBIT for any future quarter.

Analyst coverage is also empty — no ratings, no target price. This is consistent with third-party data noting "90 days with no investment bank rating" for the stock.

The only reference found was a China-backed broker (国投证券香港) with an "Accumulate/增持" rating and a target of HK$0.86, but this is a single external reference, not a consensus.
