Qingming Festival is a traditional for Chinese people to pay respect to ancestors. What will I burn as an offering? I think nowadays a lot of people misunderstand the real purpose of it. ( nowadays, there are so many products like casinos, guns, police stations etc...) I believe it is not what or or how many things to burn for your ancestor, is how you treat them before they pass away. Qing Ming festival for me is kind of like family gatherings. Reunited all the family members and honoured the memory of the ancestors. Maintaining the connections between each other. The main point is to treat your family members well and cherish them when they are still alive. A lesson that I never forget. ( Don't wait until is too late)

Today is Qingming Festival. Last time use to go Tomb to pray my ancestors and use to burn many items to them. But later on when they move from Tomb to Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery we seldom burn anything as we believe they are going to reincarnation since they had pass on many year already. So instead of burning items we will do praying. Also environment friendly. In the past, whole family would meet to visit graves, pay respects to ancestors and burn paper offerings at Qingming festival. Nowadays, just visit columbarium niches to send our warmest regards and best wishes with prayers and fresh flowers.

🌟🌟🌟Since ancient times, the Chinese have always paid respect to their elders and Qingming Festival is especially important to us.  Qingming is a time to remember those who have come before us and honour their memory by visiting their final resting place. Even though my father passed away 2 years ago,  his memory is still lives in my heart. When he was alive he loved to play his records.  His favourite song would be Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender".
