The US stock market rose, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gaining 1.6% and 1.8%, respectively. This followed a surprise drop in weekly jobless claims, bringing optimism that the Federal Reserve may take a more cautious approach to rate cuts.
Chinese stocks were mixed, with the Hang Seng Index rising 0.7% and the CSI 300 Index falling 1.2%. Senior officials from China's National Development and Reform Commission stated on Friday that the country will expand the issuance of ultra-long-term bonds to further stimulate consumer spending.
