Look Back, Trade Forward | Reflect on August, Plan for September August was a month worth looking back on, not just because of the numbers, but because of the lessons, discipline, and small wins along the way. I’m grateful for the opportunity to earn a few thousand dollars through my trades last month. These wins are more than just P&L on a screen, they’re slowly becoming future vacation funds, a reminder that consistent execution can create something meaningful beyond the market. One of the things I enjoyed most last month was taking the time to share the Iron Condor as a playbook, breaking down the idea of defined risk, positioning, probability, and patience. Writing about the strategy also made me reflect on my own process. Sometimes, teaching what you trade helps you understand you

September Trading Plan: Fewer Trades, Better Decisions

August ended with the major indices looking strong, but I do not see that as an all-clear signal for September. Under the surface, the picture is less comfortable. Market participation has narrowed, small caps have lost momentum, and industrials and transports are beginning to weaken. At the same time, long-term bond yields remain elevated, creating pressure for rate-sensitive areas such as real estate, utilities and regional banks. My conclusion is simple: September is not the month to carry weak positions out of hope or force trades because cash feels unproductive. ## September seasonality is a filter, not a prediction September has a reputation for being difficult, particularly in the second half of the month. I am not treating that historical pattern as an automatic sell signal. Season

August showed that Singapore equities are entering a more selective phase. The STI gained 2.3%, but the real story was not simply the index hitting record highs—it was the market rewarding companies that could convert favourable themes into sustainable earnings. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding led the STI with a 22.5% gain, backed by record profits and a US$22.4 billion order book. Banks remained resilient, while institutional money rotated toward developers trading below book value. Manufacturing names such as Frencken also highlighted how capacity expansion can support future growth. To me, the key takeaway is simple: themes attract investors, but execution earns the premium. In September, earnings quality, cash generation, capital allocation and valuation could matter more than simply riding

SGX August Review Sees STI Hit Record High as Developers and Earnings Leaders Drive Rotation

@SGX_Stars
Two-thirds of the Singapore market reported semi-annual results in August, making earnings season the primary focus for investors. Beyond headline profit growth, investors assessed the resilience of companies to a mixed macro environment and the efficiency of their business operations at the micro level. Investors also focused on a more hawkish US rates environment, with rising Treasury yields and renewed expectations of higher-for-longer rates weighing on equity valuations. $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ 's results reinforced confidence in the durability of AI-related investment demand, while investors monitored further policy support measures from Beijing as Chinese growth concerns persisted, alongside developments in semiconductor trade restrictions and global

Why SLB’s $4.1 Billion Cooling Deal Changes Its Identity Faster Than Its Risk Profile

$SLB Ltd(SLB)$’s acquisition of Kelvion is a deliberate move away from dependence on oilfield activity and toward the thermal infrastructure required by artificial-intelligence data centres. The market rewarded the strategy, but the purchase introduces acquisition and execution risks when enthusiasm for AI infrastructure is already high. SLB announced on August 31 that it would acquire Kelvion for $4.1 billion, comprising $3.4 billion of cash and $700 million of assumed debt. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027. Kelvion makes heat exchangers and cooling systems for data centres, heat pumps, carbon capture and industrial applications. Reuters’ August 31 report provides the consideration, timetable and strategic rationale.
Why SLB’s $4.1 Billion Cooling Deal Changes Its Identity Faster Than Its Risk Profile

🌟 $Circle Internet Corp.(CRCL)$ dramatic 9.65% intraday surge to USD 95.55 was countered by a 2.79% to USD 92.88.  This was due to a classic bout of near term institutional profit taking & multiple compression ahead of critical macroeconomic catalysts rather than a breakdown of its core business fundamentals. I believe the single biggest reason for the 2.79% drop is institutional de-risking ahead of this Friday's highly anticipated August Non Farm Payrolls report. Asset managers are trimming tech linked winners to build up cash reserves, refusing to carry over-leveraged  long positions into a major economic release. SanDisk +5.5%: Real Breakout or Just MSCI Buying?

$SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$   $Micron Technology(MU)$   $SK hynix(SKHY)$   SanDisk just gave us a perfect lesson in why price action and fundamentals are not always the same thing.
