💻 JPMorgan's AI Chip Forecast: ASICs Could Surpass GPUs in 2027

The AI chip market may be entering a new phase. For years, the AI infrastructure boom has been synonymous with GPUs, with $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ at the center of the buildout. But as hyperscalers increasingly develop chips optimized for their own AI workloads, custom accelerators are becoming a larger part of the semiconductor equation. According to $JPMorgan Chase(JPM)$'s Fall 2026 U.S. Semiconductor & Semiconductor Equipment Industry Update, ASICs and XPUs are expected to account for 54% of AI accelerator unit shipments in 2027, up from about 41% in 2026, before reaching 55% in 2028. $JPMorgan Chase(JPM)$ also estimates
💻 JPMorgan's AI Chip Forecast: ASICs Could Surpass GPUs in 2027
TOP苏36: The real story isn't GPUs vs. ASICs — it's specialization. GPUs should remain critical for training and rapidly evolving workloads, where flexibility and software ecosystems matter. But inference is different: once workloads become predictable and massive, every watt and every dollar per token matters. That's why custom silicon is becoming strategically important. OpenAI's Jalapeño, developed with Broadcom, is a good example of this shift towards workload-specific optimization. What interests me most is the "picks-and-shovels" layer. Broadcom isn't simply competing with NVIDIA; it can benefit when hyperscalers build their own accelerators because those chips still need advanced connectivity, networking and silicon expertise. Broadcom's Q3 FY2026 AI semiconductor revenue reached $16.7B, up 221% YoY. My takeaway: the future may not be GPU or ASIC. It may be GPU + ASIC + networking — with each optimized for a different part of the AI workload. @Capital_Insights [贱笑]

Nasdaq 100 Rebalance Effective on Sep 21: Rules & New Additions Breakdown

Disclaimer: This article is for investor education only and does not constitute investment advice. The capital flow effect from index rebalancing is a short-term trading shock and does not alter the fundamentals of listed companies. 1. When does the Nasdaq 100 rebalance? How many times per year? The Nasdaq 100 adopts a dual mechanism: quarterly review + annual reconstitution. Quarterly rebalancing (3 routine weight adjustments annually: March, June, September) Quarterly reviews are conducted in March, June and September, primarily to adjust constituent weights. Constituents may be added or removed under certain circumstances. Adjustments are announced in advance and take effect before the market opens on the third Monday of the respective month. This September rebalance takes effect pre-ma
Nasdaq 100 Rebalance Effective on Sep 21: Rules & New Additions Breakdown
TOP吉3186: For my view: The index rebalance is mainly a short-term event. The most important point is: SpaceX (SPCX) gets a much higher Nasdaq-100 weight → index funds may need to buy more shares. This can create short-term buying pressure. But it does not mean the company suddenly became more valuable or profitable. Some of the buying may already be priced in before September 21. After the rebalance, the buying pressure can disappear. What should investors watch? Short term: Fund flows and trading volume. Long term: Revenue, profit, cash flow and business growth. Simple rule: Index inclusion = possible short-term boost. Strong fundamentals = long-term value. So I would not buy a stock only because it entered an index. Look at the company's actual business first.

How Late Does This Market Get Round to Pricing a US$1.94 Billion Raise?

The three US indices closed Friday almost where they started. The $Dow Jones(.DJI)$ fell 0.18 per cent to 51,682.64, down 95.40 points on the day; the $S&P 500(.SPX)$ closed 0.17 per cent higher at 7,650.50, up 12.74 points; and the $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ Composite closed 0.39 per cent higher at 26,522.54. It was a triple-witching day, with stock options, index futures and index options all expiring together and an index rebalancing on top, so volume was always going to be heavy. The calm at index level says very little; what was actually happening was money moving between sectors. The split between the indices is par
How Late Does This Market Get Round to Pricing a US$1.94 Billion Raise?
TOP吉3186: For my view: Dilution is often priced in quickly, but not always immediately. In RKLB’s case: Thursday: stock rose 6.47% despite the $1.94B share offering. Friday: stock fell 4.79%, suggesting investors started focusing more on the dilution. But dilution does not automatically mean the company is worse. Rocket Lab also receives a large amount of new cash to fund growth. The key question is whether the company can use that money to create more revenue and cash flow than the value given up by existing shareholders. Simple rule: New shares → ownership per old share becomes smaller. New cash → company gets more money to grow. So I would not judge RKLB only from one day's price movement. Bottom line: The market can take several days or weeks to fully digest dilution. Watch share count + cash balance + revenue growth + cash flow.

How To Navigate The 500% Memory Supercycle: Valuation, Risks, and Top Stock Picks

We have a cumulative surge of 500% in memory contract prices which span across DRAM, NAND Flash, and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). This has transformed the semiconductor market into an extraordinary structural expansion. In the article we would like to discuss how to navigate the 500% memory supercycle, in terms of valuation, risks and what are some of the top stock picks investors can look into. 1. A 500% PRICE SURGE: IS IT STILL GOOD NEWS? In traditional memory cycles, a 500% rise in dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) or NAND Flash contract prices signalled an imminent market top. Historically, such violent price spikes triggered demand destruction among consumer electronics original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), rapidly followed by aggressive overexpansion of capital expenditures by m

The 16% move looks less like a Bitcoin trade and more like a repricing of Strategy's financial machinery. The market may be pricing three things: regulatory optionality, leveraged exposure to a renewed Bitcoin rally, and Strategy's ability to raise capital and turn that capital into more BTC exposure per share. The regulatory narrative is interesting because the CLARITY Act itself failed. What changed afterwards was the response: the SEC moved ahead with an Innovation Exemption for tokenized equities, while regulators signalled that crypto rulemaking could continue even without Congress. So investors may be pricing regulatory progress through a different route rather than celebrating the failed bill itself. But there is a reflexive element here. The higher MSTR trades relative to its under

I would watch CRWD. Oil majors and refiners have strong near-term fundamentals from US$100+ Brent and high crack spreads, but much depends on how long those conditions persist. CRWD has a more structural opportunity. As AI agents multiply, companies need to secure more identities, endpoints and automated actions. If that translates into sustained ARR growth, the theme could extend well beyond the current AI enthusiasm. The main risk is valuation. A strong secular story does not automatically make the stock cheap. For energy, I would watch whether oil prices and refining margins stay elevated. For CRWD, I would watch whether agentic-AI security produces meaningful incremental revenue. New highs matter less than whether earnings can keep catching up with prices.

🌟🌟🌟The important question I must answer in order to balance risk & return in advanced short put trading is "At what price would I be happy to own 100 shares of this stock if the market crashes tomorrow?" If I want to maximise income while keeping panic at zero, I must anchor my strike price to a value where I actively want to be assigned. Eg: $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ which is currently trading at USD 559.82 due to high demand wave & big target price upgrade from analysts.  AMD has a high IV. This means its options premiums are attractive. Let's look at USD 480 Strike Price expiring in 30 days.  The options market is pricing this USD 480 Put at a premium of USD 15. I execute a Sell to Open contract. I collect USD1500

For me, the key takeaway is that the forfeited assets can provide additional fiscal resources, but I would not treat the full S$3 billion as a direct boost to annual spending. The assets are being liquidated progressively, with proceeds going into the Consolidated Fund. From an investor perspective, I am more interested in how this fiscal capacity supports businesses. Grants for digitalisation, AI, productivity and market expansion could be especially useful for SMEs looking to grow without taking on excessive costs. Overall, I see the measures as a supportive layer for Singapore businesses and households. But I would still focus more on sustainable recurring revenue than a one-off windfall. Fiscal transparency and disciplined spending are what give me confidence in Singapore’s long-term

For me, the high-beta rally is interesting because it shows risk appetite is returning, but I would not read too much into one strong session. $Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$ , $MicroStrategy(MSTR)$ and $Robinhood(HOOD)$ are heavily influenced by crypto sentiment, while $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ , AMAT, NVDA and $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ give us a broader view of growth and AI appetite. I would choose B: wait for confirmation. I prefer to see the recovery spread across more sectors, with stronger volume and sustained momentum, rather than chasing a sharp one-day mo

🌟🌟🌟The partnership with the world's most dominant launch provider $SpaceX(SPCX)$ & the king of AI silicon $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ is a monumental milestone.   It is an engineering marvel to design a space optimised rack that compresses 175 kW of average compute into a lighter, denser satellite chassis to run Agentic AI workloads. The Capex is huge though.  Top tier independent energy  research firms estimate that building a 1 gigawatt orbital data centre will cost a huge USD 170 billion.    This is more than triple the cost of building an identical server farm on solid ground. The headline S$3 billion is impressive, but investors should separate asset recovery from recurring fiscal revenue. Singapore’s money-laundering case involved more than S$3 billion of assets seized or frozen, with substantial amounts subsequently forfeited to the State. The bigger economic story is what the Government does with its recurring fiscal capacity. FY2026 already includes substantial support for businesses and households, including enhanced corporate tax relief and InvoiceNow adoption grants. For SMEs, the real opportunity is therefore not a one-off “windfall”, but policies that lower transformation costs, accelerate digitalisation and protect cash flow. For investors, I would watch productivity, business investment and corporate earnings rather than simply assuming forfeited as

🌟🌟🌟The Bull Case for $Apple(AAPL)$ USD 5 Trillion threshold isn't entirely unfounded.  According to IDC tech researchers, that even with a high price of USD 1999 starting price, the sheer pent up demand from the iOS ecosystem could command over 22% of the global foldable market share instantly. However if the iPhone Duo suffers a high profile display malfunction within its first month of release, that USD 5 Trillion narrative will instantly stall. I prefer to let the tech reviewers stress test the screen in actual pockets.  If the word of mouth confirms that the display is flawless & the user experience feels as natural as an iPad, then I can unfold my wallet with complete confidence. AI’s Next Arms Race Isn’t Just in GPUs — It’s in Optical Interconnects

3.2T and 6.4T solutions are showing up at ECOC 2026. The next AI bottleneck may be shifting from raw compute to connectivity. As AI clusters scale from thousands to hundreds of thousands of GPUs, one problem is becoming increasingly important: How do you move massive amounts of data between those GPUs fast enough — and without burning too much power? That is exactly why optical interconnects are becoming a bigger part of the AI infrastructure story. At ECOC 2026, Coherent showcased a 3.2T OSFP optical module as well as a 6.4T NPO optical engine designed for next-generation AI scale-up and scale-out networks. The direction is becoming clear: 800G → 1.6T → 3.2T And the upgrade is not just about higher headline speeds. The bigger shift is that optics are moving closer to the chip. As GPU dens
AI’s Next Arms Race Isn’t Just in GPUs — It’s in Optical Interconnects
TOP苏36: The next AI bottleneck may not be compute—it may be connectivity. ECOC 2026 is showing why: Coherent is demonstrating 3.2T pluggable optics and a 6.4T NPO engine, while Marvell is pushing 400G/lane technology towards 3.2T. The deeper story ispower per bit. As electrical links become harder to scale, optics are moving closer to the chip through NPO/CPO. For investors, this expands the AI infrastructure map beyond GPUs intoDSPs, lasers, silicon photonics, optical modules and packaging. 3.2T and 6.4T are still largely technology demonstrations—not mass deployment. But the direction is clear:AI may increasingly be limited by how fast machines can talk, not how fast they can compute. The next AI arms race could be fought inphotons, not transistors. @Tiger_comments [思考]
