Why General Motors’ Earnings Rally Does Not Eliminate Its EV Problem

$General Motors(GM)$ delivered a stronger second quarter than the headline decline in net income initially suggests. The automaker generated approximately $48.0 billion in revenue, an increase of about $900 million year over year, and adjusted EBIT of roughly $3.9 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings reached $3.57 per share. GM also raised its 2026 adjusted earnings forecast to $12–$14 per share. The company released these results before trading opened on July 21. GM’s second-quarter release and earnings presentation provide the underlying figures. Even titans Ackman & Buffett get it Wrong !

Investment gurus build their reputations over decades, but markets have a way of reminding everyone that even the most celebrated investors can be wrong, or right at the wrong time. The realities facing 2 of the world's most scrutinized investment vehicles - (a) —Bill Ackman’s $Pershing Square USA, Ltd.(PSUS)$ and (b) Warren Buffett’s $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$, serve as a valid case in point that when it comes to investing, even gurus can be wronged sometimes. This comes about, even with (a) decades of experience, (b) deep research benches, and (c) billions of dollars at their disposal, the sharpest minds on Wall Street are susceptible to: Miscalculating market trajectories. Why Danaher Fell 11% Despite Beating Earnings Expectations

$Danaher(DHR)$’s July 21 selloff demonstrates an important market principle: when a company trades at a premium valuation, the composition and outlook of its earnings can matter more than whether it beats the current quarter’s consensus estimate. Danaher reported second-quarter revenue of $6.3 billion, up 5.5% year over year. Core revenue increased 3%, or 4.5% excluding respiratory-testing revenue. Adjusted earnings rose 8% to $1.94 per share, while operating cash flow reached $1.5 billion and adjusted free cash flow totalled $1.3 billion. Danaher’s official second-quarter release was published before the market opened on July 21. Those figures look healthy. Net earnings also rose 60% to $870 million, and both revenue and adjusted EPS exceeded expe

[POLL ]🎉11 SGX Stocks Moving to 10-Share Lots, What Does It Mean for You?

Big news for Singapore stock investors! Starting 5 October 2026, $SGX(S68.SI)$ is slashing the standard board lot from 100 shares to 10 shares for 11 securities. More details >> sgx.com/stock-exchange/trading 📋 The 11 stocks on the list: $DBS(D05.SI)$ | $Great Eastern(G07.SI)$ | $Haw Par(H02.SI)$ | $Jardine C&C(C07.SI)$ | $JMH USD(J36.SI)$ | $Keppel(BN4.SI)$ | $OCBC Bank(O39.SI)$ | $Pr
[POLL ]🎉11 SGX Stocks Moving to 10-Share Lots, What Does It Mean for You?
TOPShyon: I'd pick A) DBS / OCBC / UOB — the banking trio. I've always wanted more flexibility to add to these banks, especially DBS, but a 100-share lot required a much larger upfront investment than I prefer. I'd rather build my position gradually. A 10-share board lot fits my investing style much better. I can split my purchases into smaller batches and DCA monthly instead of committing a large amount at one price. It also gives me more flexibility to manage my cash flow and take advantage of market pullbacks without waiting to accumulate a large sum. This is a great move for retail investors. Lower entry barriers make it easier to build long-term positions in Singapore's quality blue chips. I hope SGX eventually expands this initiative to more high-priced stocks in the future. I'll definitely be watching $DBS(D05.SI)$ , $ocbc bank(O39.SI)$ and $UOB(U11.SI)$ closely and adding on weakness over time. @TigerStars @TigerClub @Tiger_comments @Tiger_SG

Why 3M’s Turnaround Is Becoming More Than a Cost-Cutting Story

For much of the past several years, $3M(MMM)$ ’s investment case centred on litigation liabilities, restructuring and portfolio simplification. Its second-quarter results suggest the next phase could increasingly depend on organic growth and product execution. On July 21, 3M reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.40 per share, up 11% and above market expectations. Revenue reached approximately $6.5 billion, while the adjusted operating margin approached 25%. Management raised its full-year adjusted earnings forecast from $8.50–$8.70 to $8.80–$8.95 per share. Reuters’ report on the results was published the same day. The quality of the growth was encouraging. Safety and Industrial sales increased strongly, supported by electrical products,

Smart Money Watchlist: $MSTR Holds, $TSLA Waits, $RBLX Discounts, $RDW Defends Support

Four stocks, four very different setups—but all worth watching. This week's focus ranges from $MSTR testing a long-term Smart Money Zone, $TSLA waiting for an earnings-driven entry, $RBLX trading deep in a historical discount zone, to $RDW seeing buyers defend key support. Here's what the charts are signaling and where the highest-probability opportunities may emerge. 1. $Strategy(MSTR)$ $MSTR holding macro Smart Money Zone Historically this area marks the long term bottom about 65% of the time. First resistance is around $130 at Weekly Fair Value. A clean break above makes the long term bottom case even stronger. From there, Bull Cycle would confirm. 2. $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Still on the sidelines for $TS

TOP 5 Gamma Squeeze ideas for July 20-24

1. $Intel(INTC)$ — Thu Jul 23, after close ⚡ (most genuine squeeze setup) TRIGGER: Q2 print Terafab/foundry roadmap, the $Alphabet(GOOG)$ chip deal, and whether Q1's margin recovery holds into H2. PRE-SQUEEZE SIGNAL: Put premiums bid up hard after a ~13% one-week drop in the semi selloff. On a beat, watch forced put-side unwind + call chase, with OI clustering at strikes just above spot. FUEL: ~128M shares short, beta 2.19, heavy retail options flow. But it's very liquid (days-to-cover <1.5), so this is a short-covering relief rally / gamma pop, not a thin-float classic squeeze. 2. $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ — Wed Jul 22, after close TRIGGER: Q2 margins + robotaxi/C

$ORCL's AI Bet Could Become a Debt Trap

The most entertaining outcome... $Oracle(ORCL)$ continues to nosedive, making it prohibitive to fund insane capex over the next 3 years. Without AI growth, Oracle's stock enters a downward spiral. The falling stock price forces Ellison to either liquidate some of his stake to fund the personal guarantee of Paramount's debt or let Paramount default and figure it out later. Paramount goes back up for auction in 2029/2030 after defaulting on its debt. How one of the most successful businessmen of all time went from a FCF machine to being beholden to debtholders is beyond me. This is a canary. If bond yields keep rising for ORCL and neoclouds it destroys the business model. $500 billion in RPO is dependent on being able to fund the project with debt a

Another Vanishing Rally

The U.S. stock indexes began the week with an optimistic morning rally, fueled by hopes for geopolitical de-escalation in the Middle East following reports that Iran might pursue a diplomatic path to ease tensions. This early momentum was further bolstered by renewed investor appetite for AI and semiconductor stocks, as the market began to digest the recent “Kimi shock.” While the initial release of Moonshot AI’s Kimi K3 model last week rattled investors with fears of a “cost-efficient” Chinese competitor, the narrative shifted this morning. Reports that Moonshot AI had to pause new consumer subscriptions due to a lack of sufficient compute capacity served as a potent reminder that, regardless of software efficiency, the physical demand for high-end hardware remains a massive, unyielding b

Tesla Stock Before Earnings: Why Wall Street Can't Agree on TSLA's Next Move

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ just did something that should have sent the stock soaring: it delivered 480,000 vehicles in the second quarter, blowing past Wall Street's forecast of roughly 406,000 by nearly 18%. And yet, on the day that news broke, TSLA had its worst single-day drop in almost a year. That gap — between what the business did and what the stock did — is the whole story right now, and it's exactly the tension investors need to understand before Tesla reports full second-quarter earnings on July 22. The short version: Tesla's core car business is showing real signs of life again, but the stock's price already reflects a much bigger bet — one on robotaxis, humanoid robots, and a future that hasn't been proven on the income statement yet. Chart in Focus: Tailwinds Turning

The global economy has been riding the tailwinds from successive waves of monetary policy easing —and this has been a key factor behind the reacceleration we’ve seen this year (despite all that’s been going on in the world). But now those tailwinds are beginning to turn as central banks pivot back to rate hikes. With lingering upside risks to inflation, we’re likely to see more and more central banks pivot to rate hikes. So we’re going to be heading into 2027 with a distinctly different macro picture to that seen in 2026 as tailwinds turn to headwinds.
